I made an entry today answering someone's question about do teachers' personal lives affect their teaching?

What do you think, what has been your experience?

It's not just teachers - we are all affected by what is going on in our lives, how can we not be? It's not easy to turn off one's emotions no matter how professional one considers oneself.

    That's what I think too.

Actually from my opinion, a teacher's personal life has nothing to do with me. So if the teacher is striving to see me make something of myself at the highest level they can teach me to strive and I actually see the results then that's all I'm concerned about. Now if the teacher isn't able to teach me to strive better and no results are resulted, then I would want to further engage in trying to figure out why such is occurring, but not pry into their personal lives while doing such.

Man, I hope my kids' teachers have AMAZING personal lives - packing in all the life they can get into every spare minute because I believe they will spread the lessons they gain from those encounters in their classroom. It will make them a richer teacher. Of course, "personal" lives does not say whether they are spending their time doing enlightening things, or not. I can say, I truly hope teachers - of all professions - have terrific personal lives. My kids depend on it!
