     At least one lonely voice has pointed it out, but I'll try too: making people your "favorite" has no direct impact in your Technorati rank. You need backlinks for that. You can get a warm fuzzy feeling from having lots of people favorite you, but not higher rank.
     
     Still, I suppose all this "favoriting" might make some people think your blog is popular and worth linking to.

     Okay, don't take my word for it. Read Technorati's own explanations. Or perhaps you will run across blogs with a really high rank that maybe only a couple people have "faved." I've noticed that a lot. People aren't bothering to "fave" them, but they quote and talk about them and link back to them. That's what matters for your Technorati rank.
     
     Of course, there's no harm in trying. I myself use the "fave" thing so anyone curious can learn about what I like. It also serves as a kind of bookmarking function for me.

     I was going to say the same thing, this is link farming don't abuse it's privileges.
     
     Having a favorites list should not consist of blogs you don't relate to for one, also the blog you favorite should be one that you return to , if the blog has no relation to your site or you why would you favorite it?
