My poor husband took me to a county fair, and I spotted two enormous stuffed tigers - of course I wanted them and ALL he had to do was knock down 3 milk bottles with a baseball. How hard could that be for a guy who played baseball in school??
Well... about $150 worth of "throws" later, I finally had my cats.
I was okay with this - but he's never gotten over the fact we could have purchased the same cats from a department store for $29.99. LOL -
i own loads of stuffies. there's andrew, the turtle; there's davin the monkey; and a slew of others.
-
would take too long to count them all!
my current favourites are the two i mentioned, davin and andrew.
here's a peek at just the monkey stuffies i have:

@sayzlim
If your sister is anything at all like you then I'm proud of her too. I'm also rather concerned because 14 is a very young and impressionable age. So I will send my best wishes for her to you through you. Maybe one day you will find a teeny tiny little teddy bear or other stuffed animal she will like and send it to her in Singapore to remind her that her big brother loves her when she holds it.

I don't have one but my daughter does! It's a lion cub she got from my brother when she was just a baby. Calls it Gordie Lion after him and has taken it everywhere - twice to Canada and South Africa, to London, Zurich, all around Germany... she loves it. :-)
-
When I was a kid I had many, many stuffed animals. Had a rabbit that I was particularly fond of. Looking back I think that experience prepared me well for fatherhood.

With 2 young daughters, we are a home full of stuffed animals. My 7 year old has her favorite, she can't go to be bed without it, it is so sweet, because it is just a simple little green stuffed bear, she's had it since she was 2 and it is starting to wear but omg if we ever lose it
My 2 1/2 year old has many but she hasn't latched on to anyone yet.
Kdawg, you will love this, I have an old stuffed white horse my grandmother gave, been my favorite since I was 5 and I still keep it on my shelf I named her "Twinkles" -
I had a large one when I was small. My dad gave it to my mom when I was born, and I kinda stole it from her. We still have it in a box somewhere.

I have two stuffed tigers and a stuffed elephant, all gifts from my husband. The small tiger he bought for me in San Diego on our first romantic week-end getaway, the big tiger he carried as hand luggage all the way from South Africa to San Francisco as a gift for me, and the elephant he purchased at an American diner here in Cape Town, "just because."
I still have a stuffed animal I got for Christmas when I was five. -
I do have a stuffed teddy bear. It was my second Valentine's day present from Les in 2002. It's a rather 'high end' bear
which he purchased for me at Harrod's in London. It's a fluffy white bear who wears a bright red velvet ribbon around his neck. He is the softest bear--I love the way the fur feels next to my skin.
When Les is gone on one of his frequent travels for business, I sleep with it (shhhhhh!). -
When I was a child my uncle had a teddy bear that was his. On Christmas eve he and his friend came by his friend was in a Santa costume. They placed the teddy next to me not realizing I was still awake. They left the house and I jumped out of bed "Mommy, I saw Santa and he gave me this teddy! Only, mommy I thought Santa was white." My mom had to be stiffling giggles. She told me that that was my uncle and his friend and Santa wasn't there yet.
On the subject of teddy bears. There is a wonderful Australian organization that collects Teddy Bears for rape victims and the donates them to various charities for those victims.

Currently, they need teddy bear donations. Just putting it out there.

Hi TT, I have rather a lot of Teddy bears. At least 20plus
I could not tell you which one is my favourite, I like them all
There are stories behind every one of them:
chrissymaries.blogspot.com/2008/07/sebastion.html
This is sebastion and I made him a few years ago when I used to make jointed bears.
And on this post is a pic of Flopsy the rabbit. My step kids bought me this from a rummage sale and it went everywhere with me throughout my pregnancy, whenever I was working way, whatever!

Sorry bout the links, I am tired for sorting out the code -
I have quite a few, Edward, a traditional mohair hair jointed bear that I got when I was 6 or so and was with me for every birth but had to stop sleeping with last year as he is disintergrating
Eeyore, that is hand crocheted by a now dead great aunt when I was born
my rag doll (has no name and is the one I sleep with) that hubby bought my soon after we met, years ago but she is still on the net www.childrenoftheinnerlight.com/shop/5.html (top right lol)
and then there is Binks, whom I recieved from hubby when I was promoted to having my own bus route, so he was my bus buddy and sat in the front windshield, when I changed jobs to cab driving, he again sat in the front window -
My wife has two teddy bears on our bed. They are the size of young children. I don't get it....but I don't say anything. You have to pick your arguments.

1. A) I have a panda (not a red one)
B) I got him as a child
C) I associate him with skiing as I use him to hold my skiing badges and medals.
Panda is not for cuddling purposes these days he is more of an ornament. I will remove the badges etc and give him to my son when he is old enough not to eat him -
I had a Limited Edition Cartier Teddy Bear named "Juliette"
given to me from the Vice President of Cartier himself
but I sold that sucker for $500.00 on Ebay. Hell Yes It Was Worth It. Every Penny. -
Don't know if I've ever had one....
Then, I had a friend who, in his 30's, took his stuffed bears with him everywhere and got upset when I wouldn't talk to them.... -
I don't have a teddy "bear," but I have other stuffed animals, including a stuffed longhorn steer, Canada goose, orangutan & Chtulhu. My favorite is a husky that my hubby bought for me when I first moved down here. He reminds me of my old, real husky, who I loved very much, but had to give away. The orangutan (another gift from my hubby,) is really sweet too, though.
I used to have a Mrs. Beasley doll (anyone remember "Family Affair"?) I had to sell her some years ago, unfortunately. -
I love stuffed animals ... awwww. I have a few teddys but I love bunnies, have a little collection of them. Of course, my drowsey doll has a prominent place on my desk ... beside my computer. You know, for inspiration
My sister has always liked monkeys and has a little collection of those. Hence the name of my blog. -
I feel like I'm well acquainted with your drowsey doll, although we have never met.
Monkeys have a rich symbolic history. Whether positive or negative, the monkey is said to be revealing something to you about what is going on in your inner world. A dream featuring a monkey may be an encouragement from you unconscious to continue to develop your personality by staying close to your own nature.

I have my old bear, Timothy, from when I was 7 and got him for my birthday. He's an aged bear now, and looks worse for wear, but he's a little bit of the history of my childhood.

I don't have a stuffed animal but I am a big fan of taxidermy and have already requested that I be stuffed at the moment of my death. Things like this can sometimes be a bit tacky but I believe the tinted glass display case and "authentic" pub surroundings will lift it far above the usual taxidermy fare of cross eyed owls and electrified cats

First it was a little white bear with black circles on his paws, eyes and the end of his nose that got stolen when I was 13 whose name was TayTay (I couldn't say Teddy when I got him), who slept with me, and went everywhere with me. Then, I had a teddy that was given to me when I was 14 and called the police on my brothers, because they were threatening my mother. That bear, whose name was Fuzz (bad play on the fact he came from the police) from then on went everywhere, from my Navy boot camp graduation (in my mom's carry-on luggage, with his head out 'so he could breathe'), to my tech school with the Navy where he slept with me, as he had since I got him, to Italy when my now ex-husband proposed, he sat on the head table at the wedding and held my bouquet, and he even joined us on the honeymoon. He went EVERYWHERE, even had his own email address. When we lost him, it was heartbreaking, because I was pregnant, and in a very stressfull situation (I was homeless, with two small children, and going through a nasty divorce). NOW, we have a pink build-a-bear who wears a Supergirl tshirt, and my husband's build-a-bear triceratops who sleep with us, and a bear that I swear is TayTay's twin, so her name is TeeTee. But, we're also a multiple with a couple of littles inside, so it's not suprising that we're so attached to our million and one stuffies, to the point there are nights when the bed is so covered in stuffies, there's no room for my husband. We also collect stuffed pigs.

Teddy bears and stuffed animals do represent a large portion of our childrens beds. They love to pile them up at the end leaving about 80% left for sleeping. Most of our collection comes from www.cuddleworks.com/

I have a rabbit that my dad gave me. I used to have more, but certain people tend to steal them from me.

1. Do you own one or more teddy bears or stuffed animals?
Yes, sort of. It is a glow worm so it has some stuffing
(a) If so, what does your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal look like?
A lot like this

(b) Where did it come from?
my daddy
(c) What do you associate your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal with?
Getting over fear. Initially of the dark, then rejection, then auditions, etc. He is my glow in the dark homie -
Most of the stuffed animals in this house belong to Puddin', the Yorkie. I regularly stitch on detached arms and legs, collect stuffing from the floors and replace it, stitching the hole(s) closed, and have even been known to add squeakers to increase her enjoyment of torturing and killing them. Right now Fred, her stuffed dog, is awaiting a surgical reattachment of a limb, and Duckie needs his quacker repaired as she has disabled it.
I have two stuffed tigers my husband gave me when we were dating...they live WAAAAY up on top of the bedroom bookcase where she cannot reach them...they remind me that he is tenderhearted and loves me enough to buy them in South Africa and then carry them all the way to America as a gift to remind me of him when he would have to go back.
I worry what Puddin' will do when we get the new puppy in September... -
When I was a kid, I had a pink My Melody bunny from Sanrio. My dad got her from Japan for me when I was 4.

Mine was just like the one on the right.-
see I can never look at hello kitty the same after what this person did to it hahaha www.flickr.com/photos/automaton-design/3429357519/ I saw it awhile back but it still pops into my head everytime I see Hello Kitty.

I've had a few ducks since high school, I had a crush on a guy whose nickname was duck so all my friends gave ducks ;-) My favorites now are my Daffy Duck pillow that I got for a birthday from my best friend and my white teddy bear, the bear was a Christmas gift from my Godson, he told me he asked his mom to get that for me so I wouldn't sleep alone in Tucson, awwwww.
-
I have a blue dead bear. I bought it years ago at a pot shop. It still smells like incense. I would never part with it,. I forgot to say it reminds me of my carefree youthful days when I could do what I wanted when I wanted and not care about urting someone or there being someone home waiting for me.
-
I have lots of stuffed animals at home. They are remembrance from the countries that we visited. There are kangaroos and koalas from Australia, elephants from Thailand, and other dolls from other countries. But my favorite is the big red beaver that my hubby gave me when he visited Canada. The stuffed animals are decorated in one room including all the stuffs that we bought from other countries.

I still have the teddy bear my mom gave me when I was a child sitting on the headboard of my bed. Sometimes, after a hard day at work, I feel like hugging it while I cry myself to sleep. But then I think that's silly behavior for a grown man. Then I think, hey, nobody's looking, who cares? But I still can't bring myself to do it, so I just sort of touch it a little bit, forlornly, wishing I was 8 again. But if wishes were teddy bears, I'd probably get mauled. That's life.
