I can't remember the last time I heard or read anything about the crisis in Darfur.
I can't remember the last time I heard or read anything about the crisis in Tibet.
I can't remember the last time I heard or read anything about the crisis in Sudan.
But now I see we are starting to round up the usual suspects for the "poor" people of Iran. Time to purchase your tickets the bandwagon is rolling through.
By the way the people of Iran are the ones that held Americans hostage and rejoiced at the government that they now want to get rid of but can't.
Why have you all forgotten about all the other oppresed people in the world? Can you only support what is in the news "today"? Becasue in a week you will have moved on and screw the people in Iran. Right? That is exactly right. Come back to BC and do a search for the election in Iran or the demostrator in Iran and see what comes up and when it was posted. Bet it will be old news.
I can't believe the number of people that have jumped on the Michael Jackson bandwagon. It was just last week when he was Wacko Jacko child molester and nut case.
Now he is musical genius that the Hollywood liberal elite are crying their eyes out over. Funny but I'm noticing the same thing happening over on Twitter. So many new supporters. I guess it is the popular thing to do. What is a pervert here or there?
And it seems there are quite of few people here on BC that seem to feel so bad for poor Mikey...
Has common sense and good judgement completly left the building? Can we only support "a people" as long as they are in the headlines? Is it now ok to forgive people's greatest sins against god and man as long as they are a celebrity?
One more thing...Before you unite in order to "Free Iran", you should remember the two most popular chants in Iran:
Death To Israel
Death To America
Now go support your brothers and sisters that would kill you if they got the chance.

I am more concerned about health care reform here in the US, but I do support the protesters.
I am angry that health care reform is getting derailed by posturing by politicians on Iran to distract the American public from what's really going on. Right now, health care reform is looking less and less likely thanks to the lobbying efforts of Insurance Companies, Giant corporations and Big Pharma. -
I hope they just kill each other off in a civil war..1 less crazy country in the world to worry about.
other than that...the election and etc is Irans problem not ours. -

Chill. Those of us who post about Darfur and so forth do it all the time. Have you seen Max Blumenthals video, the one you tube banned because it showed nasty drunk American Jewish kids in Israel spewing horrific hate. ignorance and racism toward this country and this president?
Iran and those protesting know better than we do what they need, they know they have to do it on their own, it is however necessary for us to notice.
The media jumped on the bandwagon big time, in the case of Jackson it is probably more understandable, he was after all the one who made MTV, I didn't realize they refused to play Thriller because he was black until the pres of the record company threatened to pull all his other artists, they played him and the rest was history. And this in the eighties yet. -

@CataVorbeste Obama was fooling himself when he went over to the middle east and made a "feel good speech" and thought that people actually cared. The US only has one country they can depend on in that section of the world and it is Israel. Like them or not they are the only country that will help us.

Update: August 26th.
Was I right or was I wrong?
When was the last time you heard anything about the people that were demonstrating over in Iran because of the election?
The fact that those people got the sh*t knocked out of them is now old news and nobody really cares about it anymore.
My Point: Do not be fooled into thinking a few days worth of news, blogging, and tv reporting makes a "real and commited" movement. It does not.
It makes the majority of the population look like shallow fools. -
