Some people think of porn as a disgusting act of entertainment some porno stars have made Millions filming countless hours of Porn.

There's some that have even left the industry because they wanted to live a normal life, and got tired of the rigorous events that filming a movie involves and doing random sex acts with different professionals.

But after the show is over and they have made a surmountable amount of money and want to settle down and live a "normal life" i.e. getting married and having children. What do you suppose the effect of their past will have on their child if they have one?

Do you think their child will have a normal life?

How long may the actor or actress hide their past from their child. What will the public think of that child when they become of age to be a porn star?

What if their child is involved in extra-curricular sports (soccer,football,baseball,cheer-leading) and the ex-Porn star wants to be involved in their child activities? How awkward would that be?

What is your opinion on this?

Well I look at it this way. Say the ex porn star goes to their kids soccer game and someone says "Hey aren't the ex-porn star?" The ex porn stars response should be "Yes which of my films do you recognize me from?" NOW who is disgraced?

I dunno...I know what Jenna Jameson looks like and I've never seen one of her "films."

I suppose that the parents would act in the same manner as any parent who has done things in their youth or early adulthood that is considered "bad" by society, or at the very least, irresponsible or dangerous.

let me tell ya, the life of a porn star isn't everything it's cracked up to be, so to speak. yeah, it's a rough and tumble way to make a buck. that's why i got out while the gettin was good. had my health. had some coin. but mostly still had this wild imagination of mine.

yeah, it was something for sure.

I am a former sex industry worker--I worked as an exotic dancer and also as a call girl. I was also a junkie. I am currently writing my memoir (just finished the rough draft) and my belief is that people can change the direction of their lives (I am now a college professor) and their past should not be held against them.

tyler, i'm going to be serious for a moment (not an easy thing for me). good for you! congratulations! and your point is well taken!

(and now i shall return to being the village idiot)

Very inspiring mtyler77, and I agree your past shouldn't effect your future, but human beings are ignorant when it comes to looking at a person in a different light albeit you have changed for the better, (hats off to you).

It's dealing with the majority of people that have seen you in film and now that you live a different life some may still view you as the "porn star" with "x-ray" glasses on, undressing you with their eyes, or referring to a certain scene. I just think that it could bring un-neccesary judgement on the children is my concern. We all know that you have the mental prowess to over-come some of the ignorance but a child may not.

Tyler i loved the courage in you ..Coming to the point yes the porn star kids will have the effect for sure ... Not all ppl in this world are same minded .. Some ppl like to insult some like to encourage .. Im a polio suffering guy .. Only some ppl encouraged me .. And most of them insulted me .. But the matter depends on the kids but not on the ppl around the world .. The kids should first think why there parents are ex-porn stars? .. For fun ? For enjoyment ? Or for money (no chance to do any thing)? Most will have the answer for money .. After all there parents did every thing for them so why shy in that .. Its just life .. Hard times will be there for every one

      nice words dinny16, respect!

Dinny--I am so sorry to hear you are suffering from polio--I absolutely cannot imagine anyone insulting you. I am sure you have a great deal of courage and strength of character to meet this challenge.

For me, I became a sex industry worker to support my heroin habit. I was in a lot of pain, emotionally, throughout my childhood and early adulthood. I was sexually abused from the time I can remember until I was an adolescent. Drugs masked the pain--and the sex industry supported the drugs.

It is my firm belief that most people who are drug addicts do so to escape pain--and I also believe the great majority of those who work in the sex industry do so to support drug habits. That's my experience, anyway. I would say that 90% of all the women I worked with had been sexually abused and had drug habits. 10% did it for money (or fun--mostly money I think) and they weren't addicts--they made a fortune and saved their money--but MOST have some real problems, I think.

I feel you dinny, that's the truth.

Pam Anderson has 2 porn films; one with Brett Michaels and the other with Tommy Lee and her children seem to be doing okay.
    1. DonMega
Do you know if pamela anderson kids goto public school or private school or home-school? Second of all she's in Hollywood, it's common practice for people to associate or compare themselves to people in hollywood but in fact most of us will never live their life-style or have the money they have to live a certain lifestyle, whatever it maybe. How often do she get to see her children do you know?

Don't use people in Hollywood as a common denominator, you cannot accurately make analogies with them because there "Hollywood" you only know what the paparazzi or media allow you to know. And 95% of the time it's not the truth.

Personally, I don't like porn stars because I have had bad experiences with them. If you would like to read about my personal experiences with porn stars click on the following link:

I think, as long as the ex-porn star has sowed all his/her oats and lived that part of their life to the fullest and now leaves it ALL behind, there shouldn't be a problem in him/her becoming a parent. If the child grows and in a loving home and the parent is involved in their childhood and isn't dysfunctional then the child will grow up to be fine. I think the parent should wait untill the child is a little bit older to talk to him/her about being a porn star. Don't wait to long but don't talk to them too soon about it... hehe it's a toughie.
  11. csiunatc
    Like Bayho said.

There are a lot worse than being the child of an EX anything... Ex being the operative word in most of those cases.
  12. carrieburrows
Most of the people I've known who worked in the porn industry are honest about their past and sexuality in general.

Shame... You can control people by putting shame on them, but what if that person just refuses to be ashamed? I personally don't think there's anything wrong with having that past, in fact, it would make a lot of people more interesting if they did. Anyway, it is a good thing to consider the possible situations that a child may have to go though because of that. Most kids will have some sort of a trauma because of their parents, this one, should it come out in a bad time, is not that much harder to cope with than the others are. I certainly wouldn't mind having a porn star parent, but I wasn't that lucky.
