My blog was reviewed by someone here at BC and this was their comment:
"I own two Steven Raichlen books and neither has been as informative as "Cooking for Assholes". If the dumb asses in the publishing world would publish fresh stuff like this, they might just turn a buck and people wouldn't walk around saying things like 'print is dead'. Out."
That really made my day. -
My favorite was on a post I'd done on actresses from the early 1900s that were on some old postcards I'd found...
And the granddaughter of one of the actresses responded, saying how delighted she was to see the info researched on her grandmother. She shared with me some extra anecdotes and some background info that wasn't online anywhere.
It just shows how you never know who will find your post on the web! I was delighted.-
This was the original post-- "Yesterday's Starlets: Actress Postcards from Stage to Silent Screen":

I ended up doing a follow-up post with the extra information:

Every comment makes my day...it's just a lovely feeling to hear from someone reading your words...I love them all!

the comment that made my day wasn't positive. It was a comments against my Mother's day blog entry a year ago. She didn't care much for my attitude but it made my day because it meant she read it and took the time even though she disagreed.

The ONE comment that made my entire week once, came after a post I made about how I'm trying to raise money for a handicapped person in Jamaica. Some lady's kids saw my post and immediately felt compelled to donate all their vacation money to the cause. When this lady told me I couldn't believe that there are actually TEENAGERS out there who give a damn!!! It really touched me.

It's hard to choose. People have been very kind. Here are two of my favorites:
"Well done my new friend, Your writing is inspiring, comical, brilliant and thought-provoking. I will return again and again."
"You left a comment on my blog saying you wouldn't call yourself a writer but I read this thinking you're one of the best."-this one really made my day. -
This comment made my week:
"harveyavatar, you are a genius! Your articles enthralled me. The way you play with words is amazing. I love them all. Divorce, Talent, Indiffernce, i can go on and on. You just got one more addicted follower!"
My answer:
"I must say this is quite flattering. Without boasting, my talent is a confluence of sources: love of words, dedication, natural abilities, God given superior intelligence.... NO WAIT, I'm only the translator - Harvey!
Glad you are enjoying it!

Here is the comment that Really made my day:
Albert A Rasch said...
To Shanghai my kid's verbage:
"You Rock Dude!"
That is the best mailed-fist-in-a-velvet-glove-punch-in-the-mouth piece of writing that I have seen in some time.
"Those are not the prose of a great writer elevating the level of debate, but of a supercilious interloper, wielding a haughty pen, alienating us, the Cro-Magnons."
That's just dang good writing there!
Glad you are on board, I'll be following your blog for sure!
It was from a post I wrote on February 14, titled "Father and Son Heroin Trips."
Here: montanaelkhunting.blogspot.com/2009/02/father-and-son-heroin-trips.html
Made my day better than Dirty Harry. -
"U inspire me". I have never heard those words in my life. And "I believe in you"
I have never heard those words either. So it didn't just make my day,it made me inspired to keep on keepin on! No matter what kind of negative feedback I get -
It wasn't really a comment. But some one who read my site found me on facebook.
Oh and Suzie said I had a good idea. -
Here are the comments by Adrian LaRoque wich he left on my Photography blog (not listed at B.C) :
"Ibna you have a very nice blog full of place that I never saw in my
life. Indeed is is very nice to be able to appreciate photos from very
distant places and other cultures. Thank you very much for the visit to
my blog and keep up the good job."

Has to be the one from Tomas Karkalas:
"Wow, each and all your word pierced deeply into my heart. Your verses had just magical power to awake for to rethink what is what - what are my real goals.
I ... I bow to you
and I'm applauding the hot.
Though Google page rank, backlinks and alike stuff are the powerful tools, but the sacred power of the Word of mouth is much greater than these modern technologies.
Thank you for the wonderful reminder."
But if I want a good laugh, I just go back and read this review of my blog:
"What a load of femanist twoddle" -
For awhile I couldn't tell if anyone was reading my blog posts then I got this lovely comment:
"Amusing and charming. Your self-deprecatory humor should win you many friends at BC. But be careful: becoming an alpha male might tarnish your reputation. We're all losers here"
This made my day, and I like to read it every day. -
I have a huge admiration for Sugarluxe, she is an artist and all around fab lady. I have some of her stuff and I've always wanted to (be able to afford) one of her prints. Anyhoo...so she's on BC and her blog is awesome. One day she commented on my profile and blog and said she thought I was beautiful and a wonderful writer and that totally made my whole day and possibly week. It's awesome when people you admire, admire you as well.

I go this comment from a stranger on my blog today, and love it:
"had to smile at your ferrero rocher pyramid and walnut whip idea. I like your humour."
I guess you have to read it for it to make sense, but I like when something just sort of tumbles out inot a blog post and then strikes enough of a chord with someone for them to take the time to comment on it.
