"he will be thrown into the lake of fire at the end of history."

    Harsh...
    1. ccRicers
I think Satan wouldn't mind bathing in fire.

    Satan's right above me.
    1. crazyTsu
You must thank god it isn't me... guess why?
  3. Friday13
    Santa's right above me.
    1. carsonfb
I hate those Santa worshipers with their Santanic rituals. Although, Friday13, I think that the OP was talking about Satan, not Santa.
    2. aspotofblog
      @carson

Friday is just dyslexic, is all. I see you've also been hit by the dyslexic stick, though. 'Santanic'?
    3. Friday13
Satan does not exist. On the other hand, Santa Claws lives in the North Pole.

Or something to do with a pole. I dunno.
    4. victoriahart
In 3rd grade, we had to do that game: how many words can you create from the word "Santa Clause" and I was sent to the principal's office for writing the word satan along with all the other possibilities! ha!
  4. aspotofblog
Hahaha. Yes, Satan Claws doesn't always come in familiar guises.
  5. carsonfb
I don't believe in Satan as an entity. We humans can be quite evil enough on our own and don't need spiritual beings to help us along.
    1. dbowles1017
Ill throw in a speed boat
    2. carsonfb
      What about a hand basket?
    3. dbowles1017
      is that all you want?
    4. carsonfb
Well, if we are all going to hell in a hand basket, I thought you might be handing them out.
    5. dbowles1017
That is a dumb phrase. We don't use hand baskets.
    6. RoflopagosIsland
says you...I use my hand basket every day
    7. jeremyjanson
Saint Augustine held the same view.
  6. aspotofblog
Yep, I agree. Who needs Satan when we've got humans?
  7. aspotofblog
I have a hand basket full of Easter eggs for sweet little kids.
  8. RoflopagosIsland
Satan's scary...me no likey....I can't watch movies that have to do with possession and exorcisms...I get too freaked out. So this, in effect, means I believe that he/it? exists.
  9. aspotofblog
I said it before and I'll say it again. Who needs Satan when we've got humans?
    1. RoflopagosIsland
There's some real a-holes out there...this is true
    2. carsonfb
I wonder if we scare Satan?
    3. jonyx
Haha yes. Humans seem to be the ones doing all the damage.

Either way, sounds to me like this Satan character may be a bit misunderstood. Whether it exists or not, don't know, but I'd rather not judge it without knowing more than what a book says. For all I know, Satan could be the real "good guy" made out to be the evil one.

Wandering minds call for fun times.
  10. aspotofblog
Ha! That's a good question deserving of some thought. If Satan existed, he'd probably get all his ideas from us.
    1. nothingprofound
Then again who needs humans when you've got Satan?
  11. carsonfb
    @nothingprofound

Yeah, but all that evil would be a large job for just one person.
  12. aspotofblog
If it was only Satan and no humans, then Satan wouldn't have a job.
  13. trailofpen
Didn't Satan play hockey? I thought I saw it on the back of his jersey once when I was watching NHL.
  14. theindependentrage
I wouldn't worry so much about some inanimate object inhabiting the netherworld. I'd worry more about the evil people who inhabit this world in which we live. And there are plenty of them. Just my way of looking at things.
    1. timethief
      I'm with you.

There are many Christians here and if you use the search utility you are bound to find at least some that ascribe to whatever schism you may belong to.

Besides, aren't I part of the dark lords torments?
    5. Halconite

My buddy, Ubbus, used to have a Gerbil named Satan. Cute little booger he was, too.
  18. MissSuzie
Not only do I believe in Satan, I went on a date with him before. He's so misunderstood.
  19. sjtavo
Satan "exists" as much as "God" exists - after all, without Satan, what does the Church have to rant about and try to save our souls from?

For the record, Satanism as a true religion (I wrote a paper on it) does not condone the "satanic" rituals that inflict harm that are associated with that religion or any of that nonsense - society has made that connection. Satanism simply teaches eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, and the embracing of such teachings rather than the turn the other cheek view of Christianity.

No I am not a satanist, just a non-practicing Catholic who still, regardless of my beliefs, waits to burst into flame every time I enter a Catholic Church LOL
  20. nothingprofound
Satan has been a practicing Buddhist for years. He no longer seeks souls, only nirvana.
    1. sjtavo
LMAO every time I see you've posted a reply to anything, I have to check it out and see what you've written.
    2. aspotofblog
      I don't believe in Santanism.
  21. ThriftShopRomantic
Sure, he plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

    Maybe we all are Satan?
    1. jeremyjanson
      Or just you.
  23. Rivy
Satan's got a right to be a little miffed. Who's got his eye on the sparrow? The Lord. "But let one fall! Who gets blamed? Me!" He feels justified in being pissed. He's actually probably looking forward to the Fire. As Dante - our best guide to Hades - says, he's been forever in the Center there. Encased in Ice.
  24. aningeniousname
It's just cheap silk to me. I would never wear satan underwear while there are mulberry stuffed silk worms in the world.
  25. sorcerer
we believe in God..cuz of the devil..
  26. nighttimebrothers
I saw Satan in a suit the other day, walking past my pedestrian crossing.
  27. fantasypi
I worked as a psychic for 15 years because I can communicate with spirits. If you find this impossible, explain why all major religions say they exist. Some are sensitive enough and spiritually mature enough for them to communicate with you. If it would scare the hell out of you, they stay quiet. That said, none of them have ever mentioned Satan, of Jesus Christ, for that matter.
  28. Halconite
When a supposed man of faith make hell
out of our lives or the place where we dwell,
I am more convinced of the existence of satan or the devil.

But when the righteous man crossed my path,
Whether he is a believer or not
I am more convinced of the existence of God...
  29. dexed
Am a christian, but sometimes i think all this satan & devil stuff is untrue, cos humans generally find something(s) to blame their misfortune on.
    1. jeremyjanson
It could be that Satan is a metaphor for everything dark, evil, detached and dishonest about human nature.
  30. daryanto70
God has created the devil and written in al quran so I really believe
  31. Agit8r
"Satan" appears in the Arabic fable of 'Job' and nowhere else in the old testament. Then he mysteriously turns up in the Gospels, likely due to the cosmopolitan nature of the early church whose oral traditions they are drawn from.
    1. jeremyjanson
@Agit8r: Not sure if that's true. He doesn't show much in the Torah but I think he is in at least one of the prophecies.
  32. drjalee52
There is a satan, but I do not believe in him. God is the Power, Glory, Forever; satan's day wil come to an end. Great post.
    1. dbowles1017
Wrong. Satan is the power, the awesomeness, and the most fun you will ever have.
    2. jeremyjanson
@dbowles: What are you talking about? He lives in Wisconsin! Didn't you watch Dogma. Nothing good comes out of Wisconisn. They can't even make decent beer there.
  33. drjalee52
Sure if you love open pits at cook-outs. Oh, heavy on the trumo-nuclear sauce....
    1. MissSuzie
      Ooooh. Sounds yummy!

    1. dbowles1017
Have you ever been to hell?
  35. drjalee52
No. But I have been near it several times.
    1. dbowles1017
then you would know that we have lakes. And jet ski's. And it is a comfortable 80 degree's at all times.
    2. MissSuzie
      I'm impressed.
  36. drjalee52
I think it is a little hotter than Vegas in July....Try 8000 Fahrenheit
    1. dbowles1017
