Hey there guys

Just thought to let you know about our new "group writing project" contest..

We're giving away around $1400 in prizes, most of it in cash. This is going to be especially attractive to bloggers.

Basically, people write a "how to" post on their own blog, submit the link to us, and we enter them in the contest. that's all there is to it.. at the end, we link to all entries so that our readers can check what people wrote, and then we pick 6 random winners.

this will allow you to:

1- Get some great visibility (We've got thousands of readers)
2- Provide some new, useful content to your audience
3- Get a chance to win one of 6 fantastic prize packages

So head over to [GAS], read the rules and get to writing!

How many entrants are you expecting? Dozens, hundreds, or thousands? Can I write more than one article?

Apple: 1 submission per participant.. and we should get around 30 to 40 entries.. so I guess people will have around 15%/20% of chance to win something..

Everyone gets a linkback though... and we've got **lots** of readers

Most of the first prize is in CASH ($600)

And blogcatalog is an official sponsor, so here's another good reason to participate

Definitely a contest limited to tech bloggers or bloggers who write about blogging though, at least from what I can tell.

Not really.. I'll quote what ryan said over at Performancing.com:

Basically, all you have to do is write a killer How-To article on some geeky topic, post it on your site, and then submit it to the contest. Geeks aren't just techies. Geeks love hot chicks. Cool geeks know raw muscle when they see it. Geeks need to stay healthy. Geeks need business tips. Some geeks might want to know how to look like Gandalf from Lord of the Rings. Other geeks think soccer is really called football. Most geeks need to learn how to breathe fresh air at least once a week.

That surely is one way to look at it, but I believe I looked at your site last week and the impression I got was not the impression in that paragraph. Maybe you'd have a lot more entries of you explained it that way. Just a suggestion.

I actually have someone from Performancing doing a guest post on my blog sometime soon and my blog is not in any way toward techo/ggeek mode, but most people that look at the contest might assume it, at least I did.

I just added this bit to the post: "I’d also like to specify that this contest isn’t for “tech geeks” only! If you’ve got a passion and can teach people about how to do things, then deep down inside, you’re a geek."

Entries is one post per blogger. Anyway I've signed up for the contest.

I think that will help clarify it for those who run from the world of writing about tech, web, or blogging things.
