Teen is frigged... er... I mean frisked during a field sobriety test. (She was later found to be under the legal limit)
"There's certain limits to what the police can do during the search... her skirt was hiked up and he was getting his fingers dirty."

the Coeur D'Alene police department, which has a distinguished record of keeping order during the local white supremicist parades, "stands behind the officer"

I suppose it's a good place to start a police-free-city movement... -
This kind of stuff just pisses me off. I've never had any good experiences with cops myself, they just seem to be a-holes all of them. At least here, it's rarely the guys and girls who want to serve and protect who become cops, it's the idiots who get off on pushing people around.
Not too long ago there was this big thing on the news about three cops during a riot in southern sweden. They were talking quite bluntly about how they would like to hunt down the "freakin' monkeys" and beat the shit out of them. The whole conversation was recorded on tape and somehow the news got hold of it. In spite of their blatantly racist remarks and eagerness to beat up immigrants, the police chief figured there was nothing wrong with this and put the three cops back out on the street without as much as a reprimand. -
It's that damn blue curtain, "protect your own" B.S. I don't know how many crimes I've seen recently that were comitted by corrupt cops. Someone should take that blue curtain and choke them with it!

To play devil's advocate, how would you react if someone posted the same sorts of generalizations about a group based on their race or sexuality? I'm not saying that there aren't cops out there that are corrupt and abuse the power that they have, but to tar all police officers with the same brush is just as unreasonable as any other prejudice.
Er, that was directed at WW and trailofpen. This is in the wrong place but I'm too lazy to move it.

The problem is not so much the individuals (though individual action is often involved). The actual system of police departments breeds the worst corruptions of human nature.
That there are bad apples is obvious. But increasingly it is becoming obvious that the apple tree itself is hazardous and parasitic. The only solution is a sharp axe... or at very least some strong pruning shears! -
Ok are you all speaking of Joe cop or the police officer you call when you need his help or Are you talking about the cop that is told by the politicians how to do his job there way and he does or by the police officer who follows the law and always has, or maybe even the cop who turns his back to other races and hope for the police officer who's only color is BLUE and and is true to his shield.
