The Never Ending Story of Religion, Politics, and/or Science.
Is it possible that some of these threads are created for the very purpose of building a very large thread?
Is it possible that in creating these threads, the OPer had no intention of resolving any issue what so ever, and that their motivation to continue an insane thread like these would be to drive up their thread post counts?
Is it possible?
Is it possible their only motivation is exposure in the BC community?
I have to wonder when I see certain threads out there going in circles, repeating the very same thing over and over again, and never really gaining any head way.
Is it possible?
I have to wonder.

No clue. I do know that if you post something negative like teen commits suicide they all flock to the thread. If you post something positive like child rescues mother no one seems to care. I think it says a lot for society.

True
I guess everyone's idea for starting or contributing to a thread is exposure.
Or then again, maybe it's just a good positive for them.
There are people out there that love to write, so I guess that would be a pay off for them - the enjoyment of writing.
You have to wonder about certain threads though.

Yes it might be possible but I know speaking for myself that I was very curious about the issue,
when I started mine. I always prefer controversial discussions as they help me to expand
my pea brain from time to time and I do not prefer a tunnel vision view of anything.-
True
Everyone needs a little alternative viewpoint.
We should be able to share our ideas with others without fear of reprisal.
Good point.
I guess it's safe to assume that most posts are not for this reason.
We should be able to share our viewpoints with others.
How else will we come to a better understanding of others?

Duke I think it's a good question with a good intention.
But I really don't know. I am sure some have but this kind of attention won't help my blog.-
In all honesty Duke I would prefer not to even be associated with the religious 'Debates'. But sometimes I have something to add, sometimes I think a line is being crossed, but I have ultimately chosen to be a part of some of them for one reason or another and have created my own. These things have there own cycles.

Of course, the answer to this very important question can be found at my blog:
