These guys have an interactive online course you can take to teach yourself basic concepts of freedom.

www.tolfa.us/ent.htm

What do you think? Will you take the course?

(My score on this page was very low, but I got all of the first couple of questions in the course right, so don't feel discouraged if your score on this vague page is low)

I got a fairly high score. It looks interesting but not sure I have time to do it at the mo and might get back to it next year.

Cool. It's designed to get you thinking, it's not really intense. Just a page or so per topic.

I scored a 66, which kind of disturbed me. It was clear which answers were "correct" and I think many of them are wrong-headed as can be. I was expecting to score much lower.

Yes, the initial score is odd. I don't really see how they touch on issues of liberty all that much. For instance, the kid who vandalised your car. I'm not too concerned about the kid's social welfare. I'd rather meet with the kid's parents first to arrange compensation, and based on impressions formed after that meeting, you could realise something is wrong in this kid's home. Kids to stupid things. I'd just appreciate it if the kid paid for my repairs, other than that it's not a big liberty issue to me.

The course is pretty good though. I only did the first 2 sections, but it's short and sweet and to the point.

I don't think they were touching on issues of liberty per se, but rather testing you on how you would act if you were given total liberty.

Unless of course they want you to take the course if you scored higher and you don't really need to take the course if you scored lower. I don't know, I'm taking the course anyway.

    I scored an 86 out of a possible 100.

Those who scored 80 or above will find TOLFA delightful, straightforward and richly rewarding. You'll discover not just that your existing approach to life is right, but why it is right, in some depth; why in fact there is no rational alternative to liberty - that all alternatives are irrational.

So will those with a 50 to 79 score - but will encounter rough patches here and there.

Those scoring 20 to 49 will find it a tough course with some serious decisions and adjustments required along the way; but will again enjoy a profoundly rewarding experience.

Under 20, and you have a big decision right now. The evidence is that at present, you're not amenable to the idea that you alone are responsible for a life that you alone control. That does not mean you should not proceed - just that pain will precede the gain. We very much hope you will - but this is your warning of hard work to come!

      So take the course then!

I looked over the study plan, it seems to be contradictory to me, at least, to need to study and be taught on the proper ways to be...free.....

I found the test interesting though.

Well, I think to contemplate freedom is very important. Especially since we now have the technology to live in an Orwellian society. It's important to consider when the government is doing its job to protect liberty and when they are crossing the line. It's more complex than being born free. There are also some aspects of our lives like death and taxes that we have come to believe are inevitable, but they aren't necessarily. Death, maybe.

Who are these people? Posting an online test, curriculum, etc. without making it clear who is behind it is dodgy at best.

It is a free course, that doesn't seem to require any personal information from you...so I'm not thinking it's a scam kind of a thing.

      *shrug*

      I guess that's a 'No, I won't take the course' then.
