The Veraison of My Blog

Hey, gang. Sorry I haven't been around lately. But I have been busy!
When grapes in a vineyard mature, changing from green to blues and purple, vintners refer to this moment as the grapes' "veraison."
Lately, my blog and social media strategy are undergoing a veraison of their own. Here's what's happening, right now:
My blog, "Talk Wine & Colorado's Wine Country," turns one this month, as does the inn that it promotes, the Colorado Wine Country Inn.

While my posts have dropped dramatically recently, I am retooling what the content will be, moving forward. There will be more Colorado wine reviews featured, and I am going for Level I and II Sommelier certification to make sure I get it absolutely right. My first class is tomorrow.
A feature I wrote for Wikitravel about Colorado's Wine Country will be featured on the site's main page any minute now. It will be in the "Off the Beaten Path" section from August 15 through September 15, 2009:

My Facebook fan page will probably cross 3,000 fans in the next few weeks. And I was able to snag the FB domain name "winecountry!" Yay! Don't quite know how I pulled that one off. Join me over there, if you'd like:

I continue to learn about social media and am beginning to meet some of the movers and shakers in the wine social networking circuit. It's very exciting and I can't wait to join them with more relevant content.
And there's a reality TV show sniffing around the hotel, of which I cannot say more. It may not happen, but it is very, very exciting!

They came! Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama came to Palisade Colorado and are picking peaches! I sent them an e-mail inviting them, but I have no idea if this is what gave them the notion or not! The First Family is in Palisade! Woot!

But if it's sweet - I can palate it!
