On my daughter's birthday we went to the Zoo and had a blast. I love the Zoo. I grew up in DC and the Zoo was always free so I went multiple times a year.
Do you love the Zoo too or are you one of those crazy nutbags that thinks the Zoo is cruel and inhumane?
Out of everything in the whole Zoo my daughter liked this cone the best...

I think they are ok. I am going on the 24th to the Memphis zoo for the first time. I have been to alot of different ones.
Plus I have a zoo of my own here.-
which ones? What is your favorite exhibit?
seriously...we drive 20 min to the farms outside of Portland to let our daughter play with the pigs and chickens -

St louis, Washington DC, Chicago, Birmingham, Nashville (in these areas any way) The one they had in gulf Shores A petting zoo here called Farmer McDonalds and my own back yard

They all had their good and bad things. The Birmingham was my favorite sine they have added some to it.

I like the one's that scream real loud and go all crazy over the inclosure like acrobats.....sooooo funny.. they look like they have big bubbles under there neck

Your daughter gets more adorable each day! I think it depends on which zoo......but it's circuses that I think treat the animals horribly.-

I hate the zoo. Not because I care that they have animals in cages, but because it's boring.
Ooh. Look, a camel standing there chewing his cud. And across the way, wow, a zebra off in the distance behind some trees. Let's move our sweating asses on to see the penguins. How nice... they keep swimming in circles.
Repeat this crap for 4 or 5 hours and pray you don't need to go back for at least another year.-
This is for you, within striking distance, clear of bushes..

I have a family membership to the North Carolina Zoo. Both of my kids love the zoo, but my son is obsessed with animals of all kinds. He keeps begging me to buy him a bearded dragon lizard, among other things. He knows more about animals than most adults. He has a display in his room of bees, beetles, bees nests, and various other animal related things he's found. I have to be careful, or he will be outside trying to catch bees in jars.
He's always catching lizards, frogs, bugs, turtles, etc. Sometimes I take him and his sister out "frogging" in our cul-de-sac. We catch maybe 10 frogs and let them go after a few minutes. He is a 7 year old version of the Crocodile Hunter.
I like the zoo as well. My favorite animals are the baboons. -

How interesting CA, my 12 year old son is 1/2 Samoan with big blue eyes as well ... ya don't hear of that alot. ps: your lil one is a sweetie pie
As for the zoo, I have not been in ages but my fav was the tropical house in the Winnipeg Zoo. Everything in it was free to move around, no cages to speak of ... it was pretty awesome. -
If the animals seem to be taken care of and have enough space then I love the zoo...

i LOVE the zoo! the zoo in cincinnati is AMAZING. however, i went to a tiny little zoo in florida once and it was the most depressing place i'd ever been - it was dirty, the enclosures were tiny and cement... all of animals just sat there and looked like they were so sad.
i tried to find out some more info about the place at the time (to see if i could send a donation or something to help out) but there was NOTHING. super sketch.
generally, though, the zoo is one of my favorite summer activities... esp. Zoo Babies
