I have been told I have very thick skin. The only thing that really gets to me is when something is wrong with my kids.-

In my country when a person described you as a thick skinned individual its not good. It implies that you are so insensitive.

Thick skin in the rude way is bad. Yes, let's replace thick skin with " courage ".

It really depends on the comment and the circumstances of it. If it's someone who makes comments to everyone and I understand the source, it doesn't bother me much.
If I can't understand what's motivated it, or I feel there's truth hiding in there, it might affect me more.-
I think we have to be mindful of what we do. Do not take it lightly and it may hurt someone unnecessarily.
We all ought to behave well.
