I woke up to snow again this morning!!

Ugh!! I even started working on a new photo blog last night just to share my upcoming amazing Yellowstone hiking, fishing and making fun of tourist adventures with you but now I feel like I am trapped in an eternal winter here.

A little sympathy would be nice.

If you are supposed to be the Anti-Christ as you've proclaimed, perhaps Hell has just frozen over...

    1. offendedblogger
      LOL! That was good.
  2. bnsullivan
Aww, you do have my sympathy. Unfortunately I can't do anything else to alleviate your snowy situation.

Looking forward to that new photo blog, though...
    1. offendedblogger
Thanks! I can't wait to get it going!!

    2. Xight
      Or move to Maui =)
  4. ekim941
Yeah, what happened to the global warming we were promised? I think Al Gore lied. It was cold here too this morning. I think it dipped into the 60's. Thank God it's back to 85 and sunny
    1. offendedblogger
I am ignoring your remark, btw. You could at least pretend to be miserable in that heat.
    2. ekim941
I'm not good at pretending. I'm great at being miserable.
  5. Shiley
So, sorry. Not to rub it in it's sunny and in the 60's here. I know salt on the wound.
  6. WendyWings
I live in a city where it never snows, our summer just ended. Sympathy coming up, uh I am sorry it is snowing.
  7. Sylvia
Sorry, but I can't feel sorry for you, it snowed here yesterday too and we are getting more snow tomorrow.
  8. DrowseyMonkey
I'm with Sylvia ... especially since I just learned I don't live too far from her. If I knew how to add a photo I would...but if you want to see what it looked like here yesterday afternoon, click here drowseymonkey.blogspot.com/2008/03/as-you-can-see-its-spring.html

Someday soon this will all feel like a bad dream, Drowsey.
    2. DrowseyMonkey
Yeah, and as I always say when I'm complaining about winter ... I reserve the right to complain about the unforgiving heat come the summer.
    3. ender
i adore the heat of the summer. just not the humidity!
    4. DrowseyMonkey
Yes, that's true ender ... the humidity here is unbearable. I hate it. I'll be complaining about it for sure.
    5. Sylvia
Drowsey, those pictures look just look our street.

I heard they are calling for more snow tomorrow too. It just might be July before all this snow melts away.

      Global warming my a@@
    6. offendedblogger
Ha! When I say that Sylvia, I get the whole "well the snow is caused by global warming" line.

      ARGH!!!

I thought I was supposed to get ocean front property out of the deal.
    7. Sylvia
lol ... the line just seemed to fit.
  9. wilbau
You for sure have my sympathy.

Since the beginning of March, we had so much snow here in Austria.
    Especially in my area.
So I took pictures, reflected on this-snow and that-snow, posted about it and got all kinds of excited reactions from people all over the world, who in reality hardly ever have the chance to get a grisp on snow.
    1. ender
you're not out around Seewalchen, are you??
    2. offendedblogger
I would gladly send the non-snow people some of mine, we had a lot more than normal here this year, too.

I suppose I could start my photo blog now and give the snowless people something to ooh and ahh over haha!
    3. wilbau
      ender

Seewalchen / Attersee? Would be a bit in the north, I am close to Hallstatt / Hallstättersee, world heritage.

      offendedblogger

      "give the snowless people something"

Yep, that's exactly what I do, I spiritually get the snow off MY shoulders :-)
    4. ender
ahh, wilbau. i was just hoping you weren't near that nasty pile-up on the autobahn earlier this week.
  10. Anomaly
Yellowstone huh? I used to work as a wrangler there. I miss it every day except payday ... snow and all.
    1. offendedblogger
Nice! It really isn't the worst place to live, is it hehe.

I can see the tops of the Tetons out my picture window right now, snow capped and all.
  11. kdawg68
it's like 70 in Hanover right now....heading out to pitch whiffle ball to the 4 year old. This ought to be an excercise in patience!
    1. offendedblogger
Where is that block annoying person who rubs stuff in button?
    2. kdawg68
With your clout, I'm guessing "report" would work.
    3. offendedblogger
I might change my nickname to ChelleB. too. Then people will think I really am an admin haha!
    4. DrowseyMonkey
Alright horsey person ... if you're gonna brag about the warm weather I'm afraid I'm gonna have to report you.
    5. kdawg68
It's the first true day we've had of spring, and I've been in the office all day. It's coming for everyone....we've just got to believe.

Of course, it's supposed to be rainy and 40's -50's this weekend.
    6. DrowseyMonkey
Okay ... that makes me feel a bit better.
  12. PetLvr
I've bookmarked this thread, and I will come back in, say dead middle of summer and post something kooky, like..

"Wow" Snow in August? That's weird.
  13. jungl
More time for nekkid snow angels pictures!
    1. crpitt
She said to say she will be back shortly with some pictures, she is off to a secluded spot by a river
    2. Xight
      Did she borrow Willie again?
    3. crpitt
Well now that you mention it, i just got an email off her with photos.

      IMG_4435
    4. DrowseyMonkey
Ahahahaha....Willey in the snow. Love it
    5. kdawg68
Oh my....I note there's been no "shrinkage."
    6. Anok
Oh! I had no idea that Willy was so...substantial!

    7. crpitt
I don't know what Chelle was thinking putting him out in the snow like that
    8. Anok
Maybe it's the way they do cold showers in Chelle's neck of the woods?
    9. offendedblogger
      You guys are so naughty!!

Which is why I keep coming back again, and again and again hehe.
  14. acousticguitarist
I went swimming here on Monday. In the same way that people across the world love to go surfing but can't, people here would love to wake up and go out into the snow but can't.

enjoy it, you're lucky, all we have is beach sand sun and water
    1. DrowseyMonkey
Okay ... are you just trying to make me cry or what? LOL
    2. acousticguitarist
      No, I'm serious.

We'd love to be in the snow, but we'd have to drive 1500kms and it's got to be the right time of year and even then may may not even be enough...we just have beach beach beach...how much sand can you have in your bed anyway? There is a cut off point
    3. DrowseyMonkey
LOL @ cut-off point for the beach! Ah well, I reached my cut-off point for snow.
    4. acousticguitarist
I grew up on the beach...from 8 in the morning til 6 at night. I often forget to go swimming but it's beautiful when I remember and just fall into the waves, it's like heaven.
  15. Anok
Ah, it was over 60 degrees, and sunny today. I planted some tulips, and spider lilies, and wild flowers.

Oh, ahem, I was supposed to be giving sympathy wasn't I.

    I feel so sorry!

    Buwhahahahaha!
    1. DrowseyMonkey
      You're just evil.
    2. acousticguitarist
      60 degrees F - That's freezing, I'd die.

It's cloudy and rainy and it's about 70 here today

yesterday was about 90..i had to work but my students went to the beach in the lunch break

I work 5 minutes from the beach and the coffee and cake is quite nice too
    3. Anok
Oh, haha! And I was outside in a t-shirt, too. After this miserable winter 60 feels like summer already
    4. acousticguitarist
I'm serious...60 is freezing, I put the fire on
    5. Anok
Are pandas allowed to play with fire?
    6. acousticguitarist
no they are not..their fur gets singed, and iot's very uncomfortable

Actually I'm really enjoying the cold snap today, it'sd easier to work
    7. offendedblogger
Argh! 60 degrees sounds like heaven!

I do have day lillies and tulips starting to poke up from the barren wasteland I call my front yard though, so there is hope for me yet.

      Well, ya know. For gardening.
    8. Sylvia
Chelle, is that code for some sort of kinky sex game?
    9. kdawg68
      LMFAO @ Sylvia!
  16. Mewie
Oh my goodness, it's in the 70's today in Silicon Valley... maybe I should buy a sweater.

Sorry, the abuse must continue... it's way too much fun to pass up.

Edit: weather is so great in California, but we pay for it literally... housing is uber-expensive compared to places that snow...
    1. offendedblogger
Shhh..don't tell anyone where I live but I was born and raised in the San Joaquin valley, and left there when I was 22 hehe.
    2. globalgirl
It's beautiful on the other side of the Golden Gate too! Clear, sunny skies..I love Northern California!
    3. happyfoodgirl
Yes, we pay for it all right. Weather in Southern Cali sucks! One day it's beautiful, than it's freezing, than it's hotter than hell! Our weather has tourette's syndrome! See what Mother Nature has done to us? I've tried to have patience, even patient's little helper, Xanax. Nothing is helping me! So my point is Chelle, I totally feel you on the weather!
  17. mephibosheth
Have you thought about moving? Houston has a few homes open
    1. Hippychikky
Ok who in there right minds would go from yellowstone to houston
belt buckles alone make ya ten lbs heavier
    2. acousticguitarist
Hi hippyPerson...is that where Ygi bear lives?
    3. Hippychikky
Yogi bear lives in my spare bedroom, hehehe he is my friend
    4. acousticguitarist
Do you live in the park?
    5. Hippychikky
zee mountains of new mexico, my land is kinda like a park, only no rides, hmmm so actually not like a park at all. Just trees, and land, and trees and land etc
    6. ekim941
      Yogi lives in Jellystone
    7. acousticguitarist
Does the bear like Jim Morrison as well?
    8. offendedblogger
Believe me, this is all well worth it.

People pay small fortunes to come from all over the planet to spend just a few days in my backyard.

I just enjoy complaining because, well, dammit I am female.
  18. markstoneman
I'm jealous. You don't have to stay awake at night coughing bits of your lungs out because of spring allergies. I'd trade in my spring trees covered in flowers for that any day.
  19. Hippychikky
tell me about it, i had green chili galore put them in the garden thinking spicy good thoughts, then two days later 8 inches of friggin snow, the most we have gotten all year! aarrgghh
  20. cpupulse
I woke up to the heat wave here in Fortaleza Brasil watching the waves grow from my 9th floor apartment here in Beira Mar, waxing my board to go and join the other surfers catching the same waves I just saw.
    1. acousticguitarist
how big are the waves...breaking left or right?
  21. 7masterheathen
Ohhhh..... I've got just the thing to warm you up.
  22. monkeytale
We're supposed to be getting 6 - 8 inches later tonite and into tomorrow. I so feel your pain.. and stuff.
  23. Donlewis
I was cutting firewood in a white-out this morning.

    No sympathy.
    1. DrowseyMonkey
I think you win Don .. no one can beat that!
    2. Mewie
I know what you mean. When I lived in Syracuse for law school, I used to run 10 miles a day in knee-high snow (it kept me sane from the academic pressures). I felt like Rocky! lol

But alas, I sold out by moving back to California... now I'm the wimpiest guy there is who needs to wear a jacket b/c he doesn't like direct sunlight on his skin.
    3. offendedblogger
Gosh, and I thought I could count on you for sympathy most, Don!
  24. angelawd
It's snowing here, too. I am so done with winter.
  25. wandadog13
suppose it could be worse - rather have snow and no where to go than floods and having to get somewhere - stay in the warm!
    1. offendedblogger
Now that is true, sometimes I am glad to have the excuse to stay in and play on my computer hehe. If it was nice out, I'd really feel like a slacker.
  26. Donlewis
OB, I'll help you gang-up on non-Idahoans any time. But the snow all comes to my place from yours. So put up some snow fences already!
