what is the attraction to negative things
even if you are just passing through would love to hear your thoughts

Interaction. If you can create interaction, then your post will thrive. In most cases, the negative stuff, or controversy thrives best because it drives the need to argue.
In other cases funny or silly posts can make people wan to let their hair down and participate. Particularly if there are some quick witted folks out there. -

Yeah, seriously. Ive only had one positive discussion 'go off' but that's because I was giving stuff away... Of course people are going to like that.
