Yeah, so, I'm trying to quite after smoking for three years. I only smoke about twice a day now, after dinner and on my break. Any tips to make this easier?

Do an image search for smoker lungs.

I found the pic and got really nervous. I needed somthing smooth to take my mind off the lung cancer thoughts... so I smoked a couple more cigs.
But seriously, that picture made me hungry.

Take shower whenever you feel like want to smoke...
    1. TLAnarchist
I take showers when I need to get my mind off that yummy-mummy who comes into Burger King every once in while. Besides, I usually need a smoke after dealing with the dumbass customers I get. I can't take a shower on break... unless it rains.

If you're only smoking two a day, you've already quit. Don't worry about it -- eliminate the 2 cigs fearlessly!
    1. TLAnarchist
Yeah, two a day on my days off...
      I can't eliminate the last 2 anyway. I don't know why.
Oh yeah, and this has nothing to do with fearlessness, more with stupidness.

    take sweets might work.

Until you have an eating disorder and look like a fatass.

Well I haven't had a cigg for 6 yrs. Up until my little troubles began a few months ago....now I have picked up this horrible habbit again, and really don't see myself quitting anytime soon.....

I do smoke outside though, and never in the car.
    1. TLAnarchist
My car smells like crap from all the smokes I take in it. My mom smokes too though, so it doesn't bother her that I smoke in the car.

One of the things I did do when I stopped and still do is walking or running whenever I felt the urge. Always take ur ipod to.
    1. TLAnarchist
Too poor for an ipod, too lazy to walk.

Try herion instead. It's more addictive I hear.
Or marijuana, it's not addictive and good for your brain.
    1. Draobetaks
Sooo good for your brain. Mellow out man.
    2. TLAnarchist
This is dumb. We all have lame-ass cartoons for our avatars. I smell a TV spin-off.

Mary-Jane is cool, but I needs cigs. It's hard to find weed here anyway.
    3. Hayseed
Good for your brain?!? Nooo ... the THC settles in fatty tissues within your body. Just so happens fatty tissue connects your brain cells. Once there, THC acts like battery acid on those fragile connections. When you get that 'high' it is just a physical response to the destruction within your brain.

Food for thought: bees won't pollinate it, birds won't nest with it ...the next time someone tells you that it is 'natural' or 'nature,' think about that. Maybe nature is trying to tell you something.

Auctually I have to agree with TLAnarchist... Marijuana is very good for peoples brains, blood, and everything else. The government is lying to us about it because it's a 'miracle drug' and they are trying to hide it from us so that pharmacies can make more money from us. We wouldn't need half the harmful drugs the doctors perscribe if marijuana was legal.

Typo. Ment to write drugs... what are frugs? Can't seem to click the edit link.

that's why George H. W. Bush tried to "indoctrinate our kids" not to use them by broadcasting right into the classroom:

      G.H.Bush is a dumbass. That's clear. A lying dumbass.

Tehehehaha, well y don't y'all put ur real selves up? Hmmmm
    1. TLAnarchist
I look like Duncan anyway, so the avatar fits. Only difference is my mohawk is bigger and I have two eyebrows. Besides, cameras are expensive and if you say somthing stupid, everyone will reconise your face. They'll say, 'hey, theres that dumbass from BC'
    2. TLAnarchist
Well, some people aren't used to that.
    3. Hayseed
No way. I had to use the picture from my license (everyone knows they never look like the real you).

    1) Keep your cigarettes. It is your decision not to smoke. You are the boss. "Who?" YOU!
    2) Instead of relaxing you from those customers, the smoke increases the beat of your heart.
    3) Cigarettes are not your friend or comforter in any way meaningful.
    4) Wash you hands and brush your teeth often. Smokers always stink.
    5) Inhale and chew on tiny bar straws. They really help with the mechanics of smoking.

You can do it! Choose and picture yourself free and happy. It will become your reality.

    * I will be celebrating 13 years smoke free October 11th. I still celebrate and it only took me eight times of cold turkey to make it a success.
    1. TLAnarchist
      Mmmmmmm.... cold turkey.
Picturing myself happy is kind of gay, but good advice about chewing the bar straws. I'm sure I could quit, it's no big deal.
    2. Theresa111
Recall my advice when you grow tempted and weak.
    3. TLAnarchist
Tempted and weak? Story of my life, dude.

Thanks by the way, will do.

    Use nicotine patches.

They work best when you put them over your eyes - then you can't find your cigarettes.
    1. TLAnarchist
      I once ate one.

I decided to reduce smoking by smoking only at times I drank tea.. I soon realized I was drinking quite a lot of tea

Addiction is the automated system of triggering the urges by your body as if they are the next most important priority of your health system, try finding more important priorities than smoking itself....

two will become more.......prepare yourself for an enduring battle with mind until you quit.....

images related to effects of smoking play a positive role, I agree.
    1. TLAnarchist
      They make me hungry.

Boy, have you come to the right place. I didn't start smoking until I was about 50 (yeah, I know). Quitting was the hardest thing I ever tried to do, and that was after less than five years with the habit.

Tried the patches, gums, cold turkey ..you name it. Even tried the VA's program. What finally worked was old fashioned common sense: get the nicotine out of my system faster and the cravings would leave. But how to cleanse my system? I thought back to my days as an athlete and came up with the answer.*

Enter Golden Seal tea. This is an ancient blood purification medicine, particularly used by Native Americans for cleansing ceremonies and for healing wounds. It tastes like .. well... lets just say you'll want to mix it with juice.

Get Golden Seal tea (not capsules) at your local health food store. Do not use it more than four consecutive weeks ..it works so well that after that it removes the nutrients from your bloodstream.

(*see my article on another time I thought back to my days as an athlete ...and came up with the wrong answer, with funnier results...click on label 'addiction')
    1. TLAnarchist
You started when you were 50? Why, I started when I was a dumb little 15 year old with no brain. I don't believe in that kind of stuff, but what the hell, what have I got to lose (other than money and my tastebuds.)

Do a search on Google for "stop smoking laser". I was a very heavy smoker, between 2 and 3 packs a day for over 30 years. I did the cold laser treatment (it took one treatment) for $250.

I walked out of that office and never smoked or wanted another cigarette again. It has been almost 4 years. I don't know how or why it worked, just know that it did.
    1. TLAnarchist
$250 is hard to get. I get a little over $500 a month and gave $480 to my mom to help pay food and rent. It barley covers anything. So, it's gonna be a long time before I get $250 for myself.

    Whyquit.com. Great resource for quitting.

When I quit smoking I was going to college and driving a taxi to support myself. One of my regular fares was this old lady who had to carry around an oxygen tank with her wherever she went. I would visualize myself as her, years from now, carrying my own oxygen tank--that really worked.

Another thing I did was to keep an old ashtray--it has a couple of cigarette butts and the ashes ground into it. When I craved a cigarette I would take a look at that ashtray and imagine what was in my lungs. If that didn't work, I smelled the ashtray--and that *always* worked.

It was the best decision I ever made--quitting smoking was. Good luck to you with quitting smoking!
