Hearing the news of the assassination of Benazir Bhutto saddens me greatly. I was not the best fan of hers by far. I am huge fan of democracy. Here we had democracy surviving in part of the world where it is not allowed to breath. Democracy lost here. Some weak spineless scumbags voted with a bomb and not a ballot. Now no one wins you idiots. You have no clue what democracy is really.

What disgusts me even more is Hillary. How dare she? First comes Hillary, trying to play the great experienced states person. Asking everyone not politicizes this incident why she is doing that exactly. Oh yes, you met her once. You will make a great President because you met her. Hahaha. What kind of morons do you think we are here?

Then the cast of other characters had to follow. No, we can't let Hillary out smart us. Well, she did. She sunk you all to her level. Cheap dirt. If you said nothing you would have out smarted her. It would have been her death if she was the only one playing that low card. No, you all had to follow. Morons!

I even held out for the Huck. He fell for it too. He put away the look and charm that has him winning to act more presidential too. With a great suit, he couldn't say anything the press couldn't over dissect. Huck,Huck, Huck.

Please people. We need to show the world that democracy can win without this cheap dirt. It was a sad day for democracy but it will get better, because we can choose to vote by ballet and win.

Ok, I assume you were being serious, but that typo at the end had me laughing out loud picturing exactly how that would work.

      LAUGHING out loud!

      **eyes watering**

Before anyone thinks I am laughing about the topic at hand, I am not.

Simply laughing hysterically with the typo: because we can choose to vote by "ballet" and win.

I've made lots of spelling errors, but the image on this one had me in stitches.

Sorry for typo. There is no way to edit in here that I know of yet. Thanks for pointed it out. I have recieved many responses thanks to you laughing at me. A popular fool is fine with me. Thanks techie

I always dance my way to the polls. I'm not sure anyone would recognize it as ballet though.

I saw Mikster in his tutu!

      **laughing with tears in eyes**

Unfortunately, that's the political game... just about everywhere.

Allow me to demonstrate with an interpretive version of Swan Lake

Hmmm What about Pakistan? India and Pakistan have a terrible track record with assasinations.

    Did the USA kill her?

    the voice of Pakistan

"The people's anger was overwhelmingly targeted at the government, particularly President Pervez Musharraf, blamed by most people for being directly or indirectly responsible for Bhutto's death"

direct your anger to whom is responsible ok?

Unfortunately, it was a sad day for everybody, whether in Pakistan or elsewhere! Where to now...? Was it the result of a conspiracy...?

I did my best interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite on voting day in the recent Australian elections, but it didn't work, the wrong 'uns won (from where I fell over during the dance, anyway).

Maybe we could decide future elections with a special edition of Dancing With The Stars?

I'm grateful for the fact that we had a change of govt with no blood in the streets, and whether I agree 100% with the new regime or not, they are still MY govt.

I've actually read 2 or 3 articles on what Hilary and a few other of the political candidates have said and really don't see your outrage over them myself. Is this just an excuse to bash her today?
    1. techfun
Seems to be. Apparently offering your condolences to the family and supporters of an assassinated politician is now a political act.

Whether it's an excuse to bash Hilary or not, the fact is that in the US, France, Britain, and Canada, along with many other nations, you have the right to the change of leadership without having to resort to bombs and bullets!

We need to protect this right, but what to do to help others who don't have rights...?

Unbelievable! Another blogger is trying to bash Hillary for something she did not do. There is absolutely no evidence that she is politicizing anyone's death.

We do exactly what we are doing for the African continent... Nothing

      Ok, what do we do?

Do we send in the tanks and guns and FORCE democracy on them?

It hasn't worked in Iraq or Afghanistan - if the troops are pulled out of either the mess gets worse.

Every time western countries try this, it breeds a whole new generation of terrorists/freedom fighters, and the situation gets bogged down...

Does it really make a difference who is in the office in the US?
    1. Unfettered
Not if it's a major party member. Not really.
    2. acousticguitarist
mmm i'm sure so, and how is a minor party ever going to get a look in

Thats what I always thought about America, I think the President is just a front for what goes on in the background
    1. acousticguitarist
same everywhere, hasn't anyone else twigged yet?
    2. globalgirl
In your country and around the globe

yes everywhere, it would be laughable if it wasn't so serious

      sovereignty is gone everywhere

do you remember when countries were called countries, now they are called states?

That's why I stay out of political discussions, it's just a show. Voting is so that people think they have a say but the plans are already made and the overall community has no say at all. So politics for me is a waste of energy, and I'm a better musician than anything else, so I play music.

You may as well vote for Donald Duck, at least he'll make you laugh.

I thought about Mickey Mouse too, but he's getting a bit long in the tooth!

It would be easier I think in some parts of Africa, because it is not a Theocratic Govt. Most are Christian.

They have evil Dicktaters and it's not going to be some 1k years jihad like with the middle east.... The only reason this American Govt is there is because they have something they NEED not because they want Democracy for the Citizens....

I used to care about seeing our troops help other nations in need but now i'm growing colder... they take take take and still take and the world looks away.... Let the middle east have their sharia law and let them marry goats i don't care anymore about the middle east.

One of the major causes of the conflict in south asia is the fact that they were colonised by Britain, using the tactics of divide and conquer.

Then, part of the price that Britain paid for US help during WW2 is that they had to divest themselves of their empire.

While this is a good thing, it was rushed, and the divisions that they allowed to grow, and encouraged, are now bearing fruit.

Likewise, in the middle east, countries were created after WW1 by simply drawing lines on a map, without regard to national/tribal differences.

Now, you have a US ally (Turkey) bombing northern Iraq to quell Kurdish 'terrorists', as the Kurds live on both sides of the border.

When the European powers relinquished their empires, it was done in haste, with no regard to the fact that a) tribal differences and rivalries that they had in turn encouraged and papered over would surface and b) the local population hadn't been trained, and weren't used to the concept of self rule etc.

While I certainly agree that something has to be done, I don't believe that sending in troops is the answer.

On the question of democracy, countries like the US, Australia, Canada and so on were operating at some level of self govt. when they gained independence, and simply followed with their version of Britain's democracy.

I tend to hold a similar view to acousticguitarist when he talks about countries now being called states... more and more, they do as they are told.
