So I started this new blog called Funny Foreign Food and I got a submission from one of our own here at BC that is a Heinz Chicken and Mushroom Toast Topper. Gross, huh?

funnyforeignfood.blogspot.com/2009/07/heinz-toast-topper.html

What funny packaged foods do you have in your country?

Would you eat this toast topper?

I have found some truly disgusting looking things in Korean grocery stores. I am looking for an image right now, but the thing I am thinking of is pickled mackerel packed in hot chili sauce. My mom loves that stuff. It looks gross, but doesn't taste that bad. All the spices covers up the fish taste.

gross! my local mart has squid jerky that is pretty nasty...I should have bought some when I was there this morning
    2. Stillthinking
Squid jerky is actually quite tasty! Most people eat it either stir fried in a sweet and spicy sauce or toasted over a flame with beer. I used to toast it on the stove top as a kid and have it with nuts and apple pieces.
    3. cookingasshole
that makes sense...I ate it straight out of the package and it was barely edible...although I love squid.
    4. Stillthinking
This is the kind you stir fry.

and there a couple of different kinds of squid you toast. This is my favorite since I was a kid. We always called it the korean word for squid, but I have just discovered today that it is actually dried fish.

yeah! that stir fry stuff I was just eating raw!

This is a link for the recipe to stir fry it. It's so tasty with pressure cooked sticky white rice!

*gags* I only like my eel broiled in tiny strips and covered in teriyaki sauce.

My best friend, Eddie, gave me this as a joke Christmas present a couple of years ago.

Wow--that is a really big picture!
    1. cookingasshole
HAHA!!! Is it okay if I use this picture? you took it right?
    2. Stillthinking
      OMG! That's so sick. LOL!!!!
    3. melindaville
No, I actually found it online--but go for it! I don't have the one my friend gave me anymore.
  7. cookingasshole
so if I take pictures from an online source and comment on them is that okay? I don't exactly know the legal ramifications here...
    1. melindaville
As long as you credit the source, it should be okay, CA.

This image is from a blog, but if you google pork brains, you can get your very own can from an online retailer. I wonder if Amazon has pork brains...
