   Happy Birthday. In my family, thankfully, they really aren't that important after age 16, so I could not care less if I don't get a call or card. I know some people are attached to it, but I really never got that. Again, happy birthday!

      I had both a grandmother and a mother who made a big deal out of every one of their birthdays, anniversaries, etc. They made those who forgot about these occasions feel so bad that I vowed never ever to be like them.
      
      I truly don't care if anyone remembers my birthday and I don't make any effort to remember theirs either. I do not give or receive birthday presents. Instead, I decided years ago, to celebrate my own birthdays myself, so I never have any negative feelings if others don't remember them.
      
      That being said, I do acknowledge that I'm unusual. I know most other people are not at all like me. They are like you -- they want others to acknowledge their birthdays and that's why I wished you many happy returns.

   Happy Birthday. I remember this on episode. I was in grade school. My mom forgot my birthday. I also forgot that it's my birthday. Our neighbor dropped by and was surprised my birthday wasn't remembered and my mom was so embarrassed. But it wasn't that important to me. Anyway it was also afternoon when we started celebrating.
