I just read about this. I don't know what else to say:

"a woman called 911 on Nov. 30, 2006 complained that people, including children, appeared to be living in tents in the backyard of Phillip and Nancy Garrido's house in the town of Antioch, Calif. "The caller also said Garrido was psychotic and had a sexual addiction"

    WOW!

I hope the failure to investigate that thoroughly gets a lot of attention!

The problem here is that when property isn't involved, police simply don't care

Do they even care when property IS involved??

I don't think they care even when property is involved. I know of 3 cases of attempt car-theft (mine included) were the police didn't show up, they just gave us claim numbers for insurance purposes but there was no intention of persecuting the case.

I know that the Garrido case is a totally different thing and much more serious. But, one follows the other. If the police doesn't follow on possible leads or accusations of a crime how are they going to stop crime at all?

Have I talked about the knife in my toilet?
