Even in EU hopeful Turkey, fundamentalism shows a resurgence:

"...the arguments for creationism presented by some of the students came directly from the country where she was educated in the biological sciences years before -- the United States. Translated and adapted for a Muslim society, the purported proofs that Darwinism and evolution were wrong came directly from American proponents of Christian creationism and its less overtly religious offshoot, intelligent design."

I went to a seminar the other day and the best thing I got from it was this:

"The best argument against intelligent design is the fact that my prostate is tied around my urethra" jajajajaja

I have a Turkish friend, she is doing her PhD in microbiology in the US and she doesn't want to go back to her country because of the people now in power. Turkey is following the steps of other muslim countries and directing their population into extremism.
