    A.

I use twitter to broadcast my latest blog posts, as well as new comments, and it's a great way to get traffic to my blog as well as readers!

It's even more useful, if you get targeted followers relating to the niche of your website.

i used it too, Now i don't. I didn't get it to work at all?? I didn't get anything out of it!

Twitter doesn't work for me. There is no way of viewing all the discussions, questions, topics and their responses in a traditional thread style. It looks scattered and noisy for me.

Yeah, you're not really supposed to try. It's an in-the-moment thing. If you catch an interesting comment or link, you catch it--if not, oh well. It's not like a blog or discussion forum where you try to read each new post or every comment in a thread.

Waste of time, for me, really. I just can't really get into it. It's another big time toilet.

I like it. I advertise my blog and I get a few hits from there. Unlike BlogCatalog, Twitter doesn't care if you include a link to your site.

    Any more suggestions?

If you're not a marketer, it doesn't really help you. I am not interested at this point.. probably won't be in the future either.

Too much spam, too many hard sells, to many self-absorbed Twits.

I'd agree with your first line if by "marketer" you mean "any person with something to promote". I am in fact a marketer (by the traditional definition), but I know many professionals and bloggers/site owners who use Twitter very effectively to promote their own services or sites.

Twitter has started it's slow descent into internet fad-death, just like friendster, just like xanga, just like myspace, and currently facebook.

      LinkedIn is another Good example.

I think that only Facebook will stay for a while.

waste of time. I like stumbleupon. anyone else use it?

its a tool, as you say, so it can be used for a specific effective purpose or simply to waste your time.

I imagine it would depend on how you market. If all your tweets are a sales pitch, forget it. If you are engaging people, answering their questions and such, maybe. If you produce too many tweets, forget it again. It's all about how you use it, not a, b, c, d or e.

One of the biggest mistakes companies/people make in jumping on Twitter before they have an objective or even know if their customers are there. Without an objective, it is a waste of time.

For me, I always looked at Twitter as a means to connect and discuss communication with colleagues in real time. It's about that simple.

Excactly... I am tired to hear requests from clients about Twitter. It is like "Ok, you got Twitter account, now what?".

If you update your status with links driving traffic to your site then yes! I get traffic from twitter only on the days that I post something to it. For instance, I just announced a coupon on my site and "twitfeed" sent the update to my twitter account. Today I will have traffic from twitter:)

Help Desk or customer service is more appropriate for companies using twitter

    c) if your product isn't good enough nevermind. Just a tool

Twitter sends about 20 views a day to my blog and I only have 80 followers. It does not take more then 30 sec to update so I do not see how it is a big waist of time.

Good point, Twitter is a great tool to create traffic, but it still doen't provide quality traffic (people who are willing to buy).
