OK...So, I wanted to see what the Twitter hype was all about, so I created an account (yes, jumping on the band wagon when it already left the station.) If you're on facebook, like I am, you have to ask yourself, "How many updates can I give in a day?" and "Does anyone really care?"

But, I don't want to be so closed-minded. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens.

With that...when I search myself by name or by my Twitter ID (just to know that I'm official), nothing comes up...but somehow, others have found me...sure, they don't know me and I don't know them, and I only have 4 posts to my name and I'm sure they're like the friend-whores from myspace that blast everyone to be followers...but they found me.

So, my question to you: Is it just that my account is only a week old, that I have only a few followers, or something else why I don't come up in searches?

ALSO - Do you Tweat? What do you like/don't like about it? I'm still trying to decide whether to stick it out. So far, I'm not impressed.

IMHO until you actually read the strategies linked to below, and try them out for a reasonable period of time making a decision would be premature.

Question: Is it just that my account is only a week old, that I have only a few followers, or something else why I don't come up in searches?

Answer: I have heard that twitter search is broken.

Question: Do you Tweat? What do you like/don't like about it?

Answer: I tweet the links for my new posts and I chat with friends. The rest of twitter to me is just NOISE and internet marketers buddying up with potential customers. However many bloggers tell me they derive a lot of blog traffic from twitter. I'm not willing to invest any more of my time in tweeting.

It's a known issue on Twitter and they are working to correct it. I can't find myself either and I have 250 followers.
