Ok. So i love Ubuntu and Open Source and have dedicated my blog to promoting this wonderful OS. I want you to take a look at the blog and tell me what you think of its design, layout and content. Critique my blog for me and i will do same for you.

Hey! I just had a look at your blog. A few things come to mind:
The layout seems a little bit disorganized. Nothing wrong with the template per se, the green and white colors are nice and peaceful, but the layout doesn't seem to follow any particular plan. If you're looking for something, like for example info about the author, you have to look through the entire front page to find it.
Regarding the content, it seems a bit too openly anti-microsoft. Don't get me wrong- open source and linux is great, I use Ubuntu myself, but you bring up a bunch of points about why Windows sucks, but you don't really give any references for these points, and some of the things you write are just generalizations or not true. For example:
Your computer can in virtually all cases not be used to do anything meaningful after a Windows installation until you have installed numerous third party drivers and other utilities most of which you would have to pay for separately.
This is true, but it's equally true for Ubuntu and every other OS as well. You can't really do much with only the Ubuntu OS either, the difference is that with Ubuntu the 3rd party applications come bundled with the OS. And there are plenty of open source applications for Windows too, so it's not really true that you'd have to pay for a bunch of stuff to make windows useable. My laptop has WinXP on it, and other than Windows itself, I have only open source software on it. I've so far never run into a situation where I would need to do something but couldn't.
Linux and open source are great, but I think your blog would benefit from a bit more references and opinions based and verifiable facts. Otherwise you risk looking like just another win-basher. -
Ok.Thanks for the critique. Really insightful view. About the point u raised, after an Xp instal on my laptop, i have to instal separate drivers for my wireless, bluetooth, display, sound among others. With Ubuntu, i dont have to go through such hustle. One instal and all those things are up and running. Then dont forget oo.org, evince and useful programs that i would have to separately instal in Windows. Yes i am anti Ms, but if u look at my older posts u will see i have criticised Linux too. Thanks so much for your insight. I will head over to your blog and take a look. Thx
