Have an unpopular opinion that you are usually afraid to share? Post it here...
No one is allowed to yell at them or insult them etc. Just read, disagree in your own head, and post your own unpopular opinion!
[Bigoted opinions not allowed!]
Here's one of mine:
The Kinks were better than The Beatles.

The Harry Potter books are badly written children's books and adults should be embarrassed about reading them.

That local, regional or national accents are meant to be eradicated e.g. everybody should speak English like the upper class British and French like the Parisians etc. I've always thought it's more important to speak a language correctly.
-
@aningeniousness and crpitt
That's exactly what I'm trying to say. Accents are normal. Why do teachers try to eradicate them? If you have a regional accent that's great! Speaking a language correctly is more important than concentrating on the accent. Got it? I know I'm not always clear ...maybe my accent gets in the way!

I truly believe there has to be a limit for both wealth and poverty. A person should be allowed to enrich only up to a certain point, and conversely, no one should be left to hit rock-bottom poverty before we feel compelled to do something. If this would mean taking from the rich and giving it away to the poor, so be it.

Maximum wage instead of minimum wage?
Strangely enough, the Icelandic Commonwealth had precisely that.

If this would mean taking from the rich and giving it away to the poor, so be it.
By the way, that's not an unpopular opinion. -
Seems like a good idea to me.
Interesting how those that fight for Capitalism are those who are so far less than rich.
I'm sure even Rich people think this is a good idea, but they would never want you to know it. lol
Doesn't seem right that 5% of the population controls 95% of the wealth.
*Sigh
I'm movin to Iceland.

Men are not and cannot be witches.
Witches are women.
Men can be mages or sorcerers or mystics or sages or whatever but not witches.
*No they're not warlocks either, warlock is a derogatory term meaning "oath breaker". -

My unpopular opinion: An opinion (being "a personal belief or judgement that is not founded on proof or certainty") is necessarily biased. For example, if you don't find Seinfield funny (I don't either), it's going to be very hard to prove that it's not a biased opinion.
Opinion is bigotry.-
your definition of bigotry is wrong. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bigotry
-
From your link:
A bigot is a person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding attitude or mindset. Bigot is often used as a pejorative term to describe a person who is obstinately devoted to prejudices, especially when these views are either challenged, or proven to be false or not universally applicable or acceptable.
So an opinion would only be bigotry if you refuse to change your opinion when your opinion is proven wrong? -
Again,
A bigot is a person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding attitude or mindset. Bigot is often used as a pejorative term to describe a person who is obstinately devoted to prejudices, especially when these views are either challenged, or proven to be false or not universally applicable or acceptable.
Intolerance of others is not wide enough to cover your definition. Intolerance of others, their opinions, their lifestyles or identities that is unsubstantiated is considered as bigotry according to Wikipedia.
It follows that if you were intolerant of others, their lifestyles or identities but if you base your intolerance on proven claims, you aren't being a bigot. Meaning, intolerance is not the essence of bigotry, but the mindset or attitude of intolerance when it is not based on verified claims is.
In that case, you are correct. Opinion can't necessarily be bigotry, because your opinion may be correct or incorrect regardless of what you base it on. Yet bigotry is necessarily opinion. Also, opinion is a personal belief that is not founded on proof or certainty. Viewed in this light, opinion is bigotry, since by this definition opinion is unsubstantiated, just like bigotry.

crpitt; It should, but it doesn't seem to be. Too many fat people buy into the social pressure that says they must diet, they must lose weight, that they're disgusting & worthless unless they're thin. Sure, maybe there are health issues, but it's my choice, right? I'd rather live a shorter length of time with the enjoyment of cheesecake & such than a longer time in carrot world. That's just me.

99% of my opinions are unpopular, not enough space here to list them all
Oh wait, here's one:
Baseball is so much better than football -
Fact: My earlier opinion was, in fact, just my opinion and it would be very unpopular in the majority of pagan circles.
Fact: In almost 10 years I have never heard of sorcerer being considered a derogatory term, but maybe it's just a Canadian thing lol
Opinion: Gay men are cool and if they are on the feminine side they can be witches, but not Dianics -

The Beatles, while I love at least two of them (both of whom, unfortunately, are dead), and they were certainly better than the Kinks, and "Strawberry Fields Forever" is my favorite song ever, are ludicrously overrated. I mean, when magazines do their "Best Albums Ever" lists, most of the top ten are by the Beatles, including the top three or so. Personally, I think that, while they had lots of great songs, every single one of their albums has at least a couple of songs I skip over--particularly the later ones, where it becomes incredibly clear and Lennon and McCartney don't belong in the same band anymore....

I'm TOW--The Other Woman. That makes me extremely unpopular with wives and lots of other women and some men, too. My opinion doesn't matter most of the time, because people usually judge me by blaming me for the affair.

Some more:
I love Anne Coulter
Think brutality is necessary for humanity
&
think prostitution should be legalized
