Valentine's like in ancient Roman times, anyone?

First of all, Happy Valentine's to all!
Well, my question is this: Would you like to celebrate Valentine's "old school", as in the Roman days of Lupercalia, with whips, sex lotteries, and fertility rites? It does sound exciting, no?
Though, for better or worse, it does lose some of its romantic appeal and those boxes of chocolate and roses...
