Just wonder why everyone only ask for visits and not visits and posts on your blogs?

Well I will give my thoughts and hopefully others will chime in...
I love getting visits to my blog but the interaction of comments is even greater. I understand that those who are going to comment are more likely to do so if it is something that they are interested in.

I also know that through all of the study I did before I started my blog was that they say to stay with one content. I love so many things in life that I find staying with one particular subject is hard.

I also like to put others out there (post about them on my blog) that make a statement to me or have something that interests me. I truly believe that sometimes it is about putting others first. I enjoy that.

Visiting is easy. Visiting and posting requires some effort.

If the posts deal with something I know a bit about (history, art, design, architecture, goldwork, porcelain, books, Vienna, Paris, London, Berlin), I can add a useful and hopefully intelligent comment. In fact it is a real pleasure to find people who write great posts.

If the posts deal with something I know absolutely nothing about (computers, economics, physics, chemistry, engineering, making money from blogs), I cannot think of a single comment to make. My mind goes blank and my eyes glaze over. God knows, artistryinfaux, I have tried

My blogs are advertising free but some bloggers have pay per click blogs. Those that have pay for click are looking for hits that bring them $ so comments are secondary to their purpose.

I have over 160 blogs on my feed readers. I click into blog posts and leave comments only when I have something to add to the conversation that hasn't already been covered in the post or in the comments.

I appreciate comments on my posts. Feedback is important to making decisions about what to blog about next and it also validates me as a blogger. However, these days we are experiencing automatically generated comments produced by software. Some is strategically aimed at getting backlinks from do-follow blogs and some is aimed at getting a anchor text link onto as many blogs as possible. The bottom line on those is that unless you moderate your comments they will be automatically posted.

    Aside:
Also note that threads posted to this forum begging for visits, followers or comments can be reported to Admin for removal. That's because this is a Discussion forum and not a link drop site so if there is no discussion being initiated in the OP of the thread they can be deleted.

I agree. I love comments. I get a lot of views, and I appreciate that, but comments make it all worthwhile. However, when I do get comments, a lot of the time I forget to publish them. I recently changed my settings to allow them to go up unmoderated. With the content that I put in my blog, the comments are always interesting, lol.

I love giving and receiving comments. I like when friends and followers send me broadcasts alerting me to new posts. That makes it so much easier to economize my time. I leave 5 to 10 comments everyday on various posts. Some are reciprocated, some are not. But I always enjoy looking at people's art work and reading about artistic/spiritual/philosophical ideas.

Yes I agree on the broadcast on alerting about new posts.
I wish that I was better at getting my artistic/spiritual/philosophical ideas on paper...lololol...
My brain is always on overload..I call it noise..so when I can't get it to stop I just open up word and start typing. Guess I should keep them and read later, as I might have some interesting things written and didn't even know it.

Great feed back, I appreciate it.
