Was John Zieler's ordeal at USC for real or staged to promote his website and film?

In an interview with Greta Van Susteren, Foxnews, John Ziegler showed a video where he was being handcuffed by USC cops for trying to distribute a documentary film about Obama and Sarah Palin where Katie Couric was getting the Walter Cronkite award in Journalism for her (bad) interview with Sarah Palin. Do you think what happened to John was for real or staged to promote his website howobamagotelected.com and his film?
