Veteran's Day is a time when we reflect on the sacrifices made in war to preserve our freedom from tyranny, perhaps most poignantly in defeating the Nazis in Germany. How many lives could have been saved if Hitler had been attacked in 1936 when he blatantly violated the terms of the original armistice? Hussein and the Baathists were open admirers of Hitler. They hated Jews and Persians(Shiites) with murderous intent. How many lives did we save by removing him and thwarting his ambition to be the new Hitler?

Yes, he seems at least as scary. Of course our present government thinks we just need a sitdown. You know, like Chamberlain did with Hitler. It was wonderful how that "Peace in our time" thing worked out so well. I find the best way to deal with homocidal maniacs bent on mass murder is just make nicey nice with them and they'll behave every time.
Weakness is the one quality that bullies really get turned on by. They all have to be excited by the indecision and timidness shown by our currrent commander in chief. Do you know he has no idea what motivated the muslim terrorist who had been communicating with other fanatics to murder so many people? Could he possibly be that clueless? Or do you think he is dissembling becuase of his insistance on political correctness and perhaps a deep down feeling that as arrogant, racist capitalists, we sort of are getting what we deserve.

His actions were not kind and many many people suffered but there have been many people that lacked integrity just like he did, I think there have been much worse than him and will be more worse than him in the future. A lot of atrocity is hidden and not immediately obvious as to the source of it. There has been a lot of genocide going on for years and it is very complex, it is not just shoot em sort of thing, there is the slow inhalation of lots of cultural groups and the methods are quite hidden and all we see is a passing thing on the news and not much second thought is given to it.

It's time for US to stop Invading other nation and disturbing and overthrowing government. I laugh on this sentence "Saving human lives" It seems US are legalize to kill people anywhere. And have been doing since Vietnam War. Are the innocent peoples killed by US Army not human being?

The US is a threat to world peace. If we look at the US policy and their unwanted and unwelcome political business around the world they are just building or igniting everyone for a 3rd world war.

I appeal the US govt to drop all region based external policy and affairs department, eg middle east affairs, South Asia affairs. Imperialistic and dictatorship policy of the US govt must be stop for better world.

it's time for everyone to mind their own business. Don't think I am attacking anyone here.

I'm glad the US entered the Secong World War. I'm glad we tried to stop ethnic cleansing in Bosnia(along with NATO), I'm sorry we and the UN didn't intervene between the Tusi and Hutu. I'm glad we stopped Sadaam from killing more Shia, Kurds and Kuwaitis, as well as members of his own party. I hope we can stand against genocide and the mass murder of innocents whenever possible. If we dgn't stand up to terrorists, torturers and tyrants they will come to our house and destroy us someday.

He was no more than a third-rate tyrant, made to look more important than he was. He was not Hitler; he was not Stalin; he wasn’t even Mussolini. :-))
