Way to interact with "friends"...?

When I had a half-dozen "friends" tagged it was relatively easy to check in with others and see what activities they were involved in. But that I now have over 60 listed - plus I find periods I am myself inactive - I fail to keep up.
Is there a easy way to automatically connect/send notes to friends on the list when I post? And likewise receive notes from them when the post onto their blog?
I am going to an AA meeting soon and will not be here to reply for the evening probably, but I will appreciate any info. Thank you.

use the broadcast tool -
Between broadcasts, RSS feeds and comment boxes all you need is a little elbow grease and a plan to make it happen.

Thank you. I'll probably have to get some hands-on help. Luckily I have a couple of internet savvy friends who may pitch in.
