its pretty normal...

Over time, you will see some of those readers convert to RSS subscribers. Which will bring them back over and over.

In the beginning, its a numbers game as much as it is targeted traffic. You need to get your blog out there to be seen, a certain percentage of those that come across it will come back.

Some basic tips on generating traffic.

1. *content is king* is still true, write well, post often.

2. Build powerful networks on bookmarking sites. Digg - Stumble etc. This can give you tons of traffic. more or less targeted to what you want.

3. Comment on other blogs. Find blogs that are similar to yours. and make good comments that add something, you will see incoming traffic from these links more and more. The better your own targeting is for similarity, the better conversion rate you will see on these links.

4. Participate, dont just drive traffic. This is called social networking for a reason, if you expect more than you give, pretty soon you get nothing.

5. SEO - try to learn and optimize your site for SEO traffic. Your on google after 3 weeks, thats pretty good to start with. But the better your seo work is, the better it will pay off.

6. Don't give up. 3 weeks is nothing in the world of blogging, you have to get your head over the noise of people who start. and quit in a very short time.

7. People are smart, if your only trying to get them there to bring you money, you are going to earn very little. Give your visitors true value for their investment *time*.. and you'll see traffic build.

Hello everybody,

I was wondering if anyone knew of good ways to increase traffic to your blog.

I am currently only getting about 4 or 5 views a day from Google as I have registered it and I have had the blog for approximately 3 weeks.

Is this kind of traffic normal to start off with or should I be doing something extra?
