What about guest posts?

I am just curious what is your attitude for writing a guest post for other blogs? I think it is a great way to promote your own blog as well as yourself. I think that small bloggers should help each other and write small guest posts which will be of a great value for both blog owners. And do it for free, because small bloggers don't have enough money to pay each other, but they need link exchange and better page rank. What do you think?

I think writing guest posts on other people's (related) blogs is a great way to get a bit of inter-blog traffic going on. I just had a look to see if there's a group that does that here, and there is one (although it doesn't seem have a lot of participation). Perhaps join the group and encourage others to do so as well?

I would be all up for writing guest posts on other blogs. Similarly, I would love to have a guest write some posts for my own blog. We are all here to help each other out. That is the nice part of this community!

I even went so far as to write and post an official guest posting policy. I'm always willing to write posts for other blogs--so far I've done guest posts for blogs on social media for business, architecture, and am currently working on philosophy. Any takers for classical music? The post can be in your own field as long as you relate it to classical music (e.g., Richer44 could write about elephants since ivory is used for musical instruments, rich girl could write about Stradivarius violins, or whatever else you can think of, just run it by me; you SEO types will have to come up with an idea on your own).

I will write and accept other bloggers' posts.
For example, you can visit my blog and search for pelican. That will take you to a guest post by the Cooking Asshole. Yep!
And if you go to the Cooking Asshole blog and scroll down five or so posts, you'll find my banana bread guest post, along with some very sweet comments, I'm sure you can imagine. -
The topic of writing a guest post for another blogger, or two bloggers swapping guest posts, has been discussed several times during the last couple of weeks:

and

I am all in favour of it, from experience. And I would love to see examples of other peoples' experience. -
I'm not too sure how I'd feel about someone guest posting on my blog, but I'd definitely be down to make a guest post on someone elses blog. I love involvement! I try to involve my faithful blog followers as much as I can.

The whole idea is to help each other pick up some publicity. Your readers get a chance to read you on some other topic rather than your blog topic, or a wider exposure to your views on your topic, and a chance to read another blogger you respect. The other person's bloggers get to do the same--and perhaps you'll each pick up a subscriber or two (or dozens). I'd say a two-way street is definitely the way to go--remember it's your blog, so you get to set the ground rules.
(And thanks, Hels, I'm so glad you enjoyed our swap experience--you're welcome in my house any time!) -
I know the purpose, I just feel based on my blog its very hard for someone who doesn't actually hang out with me or know me personally to do a guest post. If you look at my blog you'll notice its about MY LIFE and my everyday activities so unless someone wants to do a 3rd person perspective on being with me as I go, I cannot picture how that would work out.
If I had a more open topic beyond myself, then I'd understand it more.
I could be wrong though, maybe it would be cool for a reader only to write it. I'll take it into consideration.
