Hello!
Earth Day is on April 22. I was wondering who will be participating by taking action in their day-to-day lives.
My husband and I have taken pledge on 3 things :
1- we will be walking/biking to work and back.
2- There will be no electronics on at our home (meaning tvs, radios, computers, etc.)
3- all food consummed that day will be organic, local and raw... which means no appliances being used during the course of the day!
What will you do?

We actually just purchased a reel lawn mower to replace our gas powered lawn more. Aside from being more convenient, it's so much better for the planet!

I don't need a special day for being environmentally friendly...I strive to live an eco-friendly life all the time. I suppose Earth Day is a better idea than Earth Hour (which is completely counter-productive and moronic) but I wish people would live green all the time, not just once a year.

- I'd like to suggest that BC members Join the Bloggers Unite campaign
This two-year initiative will culminate with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day in 2010. With negotiations for a new global climate agreement coming up in December, Earth Day 2009 must be a day of action and civic participation, to defend the Green Generation’s core principles: Family with windmills: Renewable energy for future generations.

I wrote a post about my take on Saving Earth: apatheticlemming.blogspot.com/2009/04/earth-day-2009-dont-stop-breathing-to... (Caution: not all that groovy)
And, as usual, used water in moderation, kept the lights off except when needed, and recycled. That sounds groovily green - but it's actually habits learned a generation back, during the Great Depression.-
@Norski
Did you submit it to www.bloggersunite.org/event/earth-day/posts ?
P.S. My husband and I have the very same Great Depression habits that were handed down by our grandparents to our parents.

Well I car pooled and nagged everybody incessantly about performing an act of green today. I think that some of my workmates were honestly considering if tying me to a tree to shut me up for the rest of the day counted.
I also blogged it - didn't turn out quite as planned but I tried
