I am one of those people who internalize stress, which got me a life-long case of IBS. I am so good at it that sometimes I don't even realize I am stressed until I get an attack and I have to stop and think about it so I can do damage control.

I don't have much stress nowadays...since I married my husband, my stress levels have been remarkably low since he takes care of the stuff that used to stress me the most.

Stretch. Walk. Exercise. Laugh. Whistle. Look at things. Listen to music. Write aphorisms. Pet a dog. Lie down and relax.

Just took a brisk walk for a half hour. Helped give a little perspective outside the ol' office walls. Plus the exercise helps.

Just finished four hours of shoeing a few horses that didn't want to be shod. It's a great workout--gets the blood and sweat flowing. It also gives me a chance to think about what the horses are thinking. ONe of them had a kink in his front knees. Solved that problem by holding his leg lower and more inline with his shoulder.

No better way to relieve stress than working with horses that are 20 times stronger than me. Then have a cold beer and feel the muscles relax.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

I count my blessings. I repeat over and over to myself, not aloud. “Thank you God for my life, health, and strength.”

I spend time outside in my suburban garden to relieve stress. It's a calming oasis and gardening allows me to think and thinking gets me past the problem.

I rent a sad movie so I have an excuse to cry. Crying is my biggest stress reliever but I feel silly if I cry for no reason.

As we cannot avoid some degree of stress, it pays to know how to cope with it effectively. There are three suggested coping strategies: (1) learning how to behave in various situations to minimize stress, (2) recognizing the source of stress, and (3) finding the level of stress at which we are most comfortable.

We can learn to adapt to stressful situation on the basis of similar experiences in the past. It is not usually stress that bothers us, but rather how we deal with it. If we don't recognize the source of the stress, we can't deal with it successfully. We frequently take out frustrations on the wrong object. Once we identify the source accurately, whether it is physical or emotional, we have a chance of bringing our response under control. Finding the level of stress at which we are most comfortable allows us to discover the positive values that some kinds of stress may give us. If we are doing something we like, we are most likely to handle either frustrations or conflict effectively.

I can think of a few things right now that would relieve my stress. Like taking the project I'm working on along with the annoying person it's attached to, and throw them into the ocean. After taking a bat to both of them.

I'm having a VERY bad day.

I have been virtually stress free for 2 months now and it is all because of learning and appling the laws of nature/universe(see my blog BELIEVE) (the SECRET if you will, although with my knowledge now, I try and avoid using that marketed term, as its only a glimpse of the bigger picture) I even quit my job a few weeks ago with no "garenteed" income in place and have had no stress what so ever surrounding that. The KEY to freedom(freedom of all fear/stress...add any other negative) is FAITH based on UNDERSTANDING
  35. notyourmotherscrazy
    I knit so I don't kill people.

    Masturbate. Just kidding!
But I don't have that sort of time nor energy anymore. My girlfriend Jennifer and I go through plenty of stress, and increasingly in these difficult economic times. We talk and communicate through everything together. This teamwork really melts away the stress.

Oh yes, I cannot forget to mention tea. We are big tea drinkers. The african red bush tea, also known as Rooibos, has natural healing and stress relieving properties. As well as green tea, but not so much black tea (unless you NEED stress!)

Back when I was single and had unlimited time on my hands, I use to run 10 miles per day for stress. I also read books and wrote a lot. Exercise melts stress away too!

I believe ultimately, focusing your mind on something else, wholeheartedly, will allow the stressing issue to dissipate.

    Good luck!

I love to write to relieve stress. I can find out more about what is stressing me by letting the words flow. I find I can lessen the stress in my life by talking to others and unloading my burden. I practice deep breathing and focus on what is good. I read positive affirmations and surround myself with positive people.
