Try posting some of your articles with social marker
www.socialmarker.com/
Some are social bookmarking sites and others are social media sites. This builds links which improves search engine rankings. Also, if one of your articles is posted on lets say, "Mixx" it will come up higher on the search engine rankings, under Mixx of course, but there will be a link back to your site. Also, use keywords in your titles and posts. -

I have rather an opposite problem. I rank highly in my keywords because my blog is very "niche" -- but I only get one comment for about every 100 unique readers. Most people seem to "lurk" which is sometimes frustrating. I'm glad to see incoming visitors from many different countries who are interested in NASA, but sometimes I wonder why my audience seems untalkative at the moment. They were all gabby last year, LOL...
