It has been raining for 3 days now. It’s really chilly and windy outside. So I guess the winter is finally here. I don’t know why but every year winter seems to come with this kind of rain.
It’s really hard to go outside in this weather. I am really fortunate to have a solid roof over my head. At least I have the warmth of my home to come to. But what about the millions of people who are spending their lives in streets? I wonder what they are doing now.
Sometimes a little comparison is necessary to be content, to be grateful. My fellow blogger Ann asked me “What are you grateful for today?” That day I couldn’t answer this question right away.
Today the answer could be something like this-
1. I don’t have to spend the night outside in the cold.
2. I don’t have to get wet as I have a roof over my head.
3. I won’t have to go to bed with an empty belly.
4. I can cover myself with a clean blanket.
5. If I still need another blanket I can fetch one from the locker.
what are you grateful for today? You can answer this simple yet difficult question in this thread or in my blog lifeasiknowit22.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-are-you-grateful-for-today.html

I'm grateful for my wonderful, stress-free, local job. I'm grateful for my wonderful, stress-free life, come to think of it. Grateful for everything that my husband is & isn't. Grateful for being close to my bro after a real rough patch years ago. Grateful that I have time for my hobbies & for my ability to indulge in them. Grateful for all that I have, really.

I'm grateful that the summer is finally on it's way! Moving from the northern hemisphere to the southern at the end of northern winter to the beginning of southern, was not really a bright idea in that regard.
I'm also very happy I got that something out of my eye even though it seemed like it was there to stay. -
I'm grateful for my books, family, home, friends and job. I'm grateful for the sunshine outside of my window, my baby girl napping in her bed, and me having time to browse about here. :-)

Really grateful for the rain. I work nights so sleeping during the day with the rain pouring on is so much better.

My son didn't lose his eye after being accidentally shot in it by a bb gun, and being able to have lunch with my daughter and go on a photo shoot with her.

I'm grateful for every event in the chain that brought me to this place, with this man. I'm grateful that I was able to give birth, after the age of 40, to two beautiful, healthy and normal children, and that we have the resources to house, feed, clothe and educate them in a time of relative peace and prosperity.
