  3. ThriftShopRomantic
I have no real opinions on him other than I'm perpetually surprised, when he speaks, that his voice is quite a bit higher than I expect.
    1. daniel23
I never heard his voice for years. Me and my mates would watch Walker Texas Ranger on mute and do the voice ourselves...
  4. josephgelb
that is a great movie versus bruce lee

wait...is that Daniel I see!!!! He hath returned!!! If I knew it would only take a Chuck Norris thread to bring him back out, man...we woulda had you back long ago.

My feelings on the Chuckster. Walker: Texas Ranger, much like his Missing in Action films, is border-line unwatchable. And this is from a guy who loves unwatchable television/film.

I heard he lost a lot of weight so now they call him "Mal Nourished".
Okay, you can all kill me now!!!!

    "He's an old hasbeen"

For all you generation X'ers. Chuck Norris is one of the few rare talents that have been able to successfully combine a career in Karate and the big screen. Don't let the soft demeanor fool you He's as tough as nails. As for his Karate career:

    From Wikipedia -

"In early 1968, Norris suffered the sixth and last loss of his career, losing an upset decision to Louis Delgado. However, on November 24, 1968, he avenged his defeat to Delgado and in the process won the Professional Middleweight Karate champion (non-contact) title, which he held for six consecutive years.[4] In 1969, he won Karate's triple crown for the most tournament wins of the year, and the fighter of the year award by Black Belt Magazine."

    Acting career:

"It was also in 1969 that Norris made his acting debut in the Dean Martin movie The Wrecking Crew.

In 1970, his younger brother Weiland was killed in Vietnam. Norris later dedicated his Missing in Action films to his brother's memory. At a martial arts demonstration in Long Beach, Norris met the soon-to-be famous martial artist Bruce Lee. In 1972, he acted as Bruce Lee's nemesis in the movie Way of the Dragon (titled Return of the Dragon in its US distribution), which is widely credited with launching his way into stardom. In Asia, he is still known primarily for this role. In 1974, McQueen encouraged him to begin acting classes at MGM. Chuck Norris retired with a karate record of 183-10-2."

Is he a "has been"? Who cares? Martial arts movies these days are all airy-fairy, nothing like the Bruce Lee days.

    AND one more ...

"1968: Defeated by Joe Lewis in finals of Dallas Tournament promoted by Allen Steen. (Norris fought with a broken nose)."

Looking up Joe Lewis in Wikipedia:

Joe Lewis is an American kickboxer and point Karate fighter whose success in the ring in the 1960s and 1970s is still legendary. He has twice been voted the greatest fighter in karate history, [1] and has attained the titles of "World Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion," "World Heavyweight Karate Champion," [2] and "United States National Black Belt Kata Champion."

i deffinitely aggree with you chuck norris is the schiznitch and not to mention his info mercial career where he sold us all those work out machines, and all he has done for the republican party because he can move the world like if he was not a friend with bush kerry and gore would have easily won. now chucks retirement money wont be taxed so he can keep practicing the spin kick and no have to go back to work. good work chuck!
    1. blogonsmog
"his info mercial career where he sold us all those work out machines"

All part of the get fit craze. In Canada we had "participaction". Now that it is over we can go back to knocking off a 2-4 every weekend

"and all he has done for the republican party because he can move the world like if he was not a friend with bush kerry and gore would have easily won."

Norris has been friends with Bruce Lee, Dean Martin, Steve McQueen, ... the list goes on. He has earned his retirement. I hate to say it given that I am an environmentalist but it may be a blessing that Gore didn't get in. I personally don't trust the man or his motivation with the climate change issue. But then again I don't trust any politician.
