Now I need some good advice, many around me are talking niches, now with one of my blogs everything is fair game, is that a bad tactic writing everything and anything or is that good?
Thankyou

It really depends on the goals you have for your blog. A very large percentage of bloggers actually enjoy reading blogs that cover everything, usually because they will like your style and take on things. These blogs can also be used to make money if that's part of your goal, although you'll need to make sure any advertising you put on the site is able to handle multiple topics.
As for niche blogs, most of the people who recommend niche blogs tend to be really focused on SEO or making money. They seem to believe that you won't get any traffic from search engines if you don't focus on a niche.
I've had both types of blog and I don't personally see what the big deal is. Either blog is capable of getting good readership, and equally, either type of blog is capable of making a good income from. -

I have a niche blog but I tend to wander off topic. I take it post by post. My niches aren't that popular, so my most popular posts in terms of traffic were way out of my niches.
It is a good idea to decide why you are blogging. If you want to make money and you do have a niche in mind, it would be wise to stick to the niche because you could establish yourself as an authority. If you just blog for fun, like I do, then all bets are off.
In terms of SEO, your blog topic is not all that relevant. It's more about keywords, where you put them in links and how many people link back to you with keywords. -
If U put a little effort into it, U can multi-niche.
That being, have multiple blogs. Making your primary blog, as Kdawg68 commented, your Passionate blog. What U reeeeaaallllyyy enjoy discussing.
Then make 2 or 3 other blogs and link them all together in your blogrolls.
As an example, say you really like KDawg68. So make ur primary blog about "My Luv For Kdawg68!" But you also kinda like college sports and cos-play.
Write your heart out, fawn all over kdawg68 in your main blog, and when writing starts to get a lil' tough to maintain your adoration of him, write a little something about the UCLA Bruins that day on Ur sports blog, or about the new Sailor Moon outfit your planning to wear to the company costume party on Ur cos-play blog, just to give Urself a little rest from the daily kdawg68 luv fest.
It even helps when advertising, as it's easier to put targeted adds on more specific genre blogs, than the more broadsweeping ones.
Ok, I rambled enuff on the topic.
good luck in ur blogging endeavors.

My thrifting blog is niche and my humor blog is less nichey, but still has sort of a general range/style to it.
I'd say if you're choosing a niche-- or if you're deciding to talk about everything under the sun-- what will help you find your audience is letting your unique personality shine through. And letting people understand the items you blog about are ones that touch or interest YOU in some way, so you can share your specific perspective.
The more you love what you blog about, the more likely you'll be to want to carry on with it-- and to gain readers who can SEE how much you enjoy blogging. -
All great comments, thanks so much, keep em coming.
I think this has helped.
this is the blog I was referring to if anyone is curious.

The cleverest niche blog I have seen is
photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/
And the blog's readers generate the content! -
Anything you know and are passionate about—except maybe making money blogging, since there is enough of that already.

It depends on if you're looking to monetize your blog or not. If so, you might want to focus your content on one niche. That helps get traffic from people interested in the same subject. Also, if you have the Adsense program, your ads will be related to your content. That's just from what I've read.
I currently have 3 blogs. One is sort of a personal blog about an online game (I'ma nerd xD), the 2nd one is just about things I run into on the internet, not being centered around a particular niche, and the 3rd one is focused solely around health and nutrition. They're all relatively new, so I don't have much traffic. But hopefully they'll be successful in the future! -

Many people talk about niche markets but.. How to find them? I wrote a post recently where I talk about sources of niche markets, making a little study about them.
