Blog Catalog is definitely the cleverest and most effective tool I've ever encountered... just wanted to know what else is out there :-)

Most of my traffic comes from BC and Entrecard.
For an awesome guide on how to use Entrecard, check out this blogpost by LisaT:

I trippled my traffic in one day thanks to that guide. Use it wisely and send LisaT some flowers!

I google free classified ads and I place an ad to visit.

Really? I never would have thought of that. Do you get visits from those? Tell me more!

Yes, I do get visits. Sice I was new at the whole blogging thing that's what I did I have to go and make it current again. I also have zimbio it's an ezine it pings my blogs but gives only a part of my story have to travel to my blog for the rest of the story I get traffic from there too.

Is Blogrush really working out for you? Actually I found it quite useless for my blog.

Blogrush has given me 10 hits in the couple of months I've had it on my blog.
Doesn't do much for traffic for me.

RSS Submit, Ping-o-Matic, Kping, Feedshark, Pingoat, Social Bookmarks, Yahoo Answers (haven't tried it yet but it seems to have worked for many people). Oh, and of course, content! Content! Content!

Just signed up for Blogrush, will let you know what it does for me! As I understand it the more referrals I generate the more times my link is displayed. Sooo.... if you decide to sign up as well and fancy helping a struggling blogger, go to Blogrush by clicking on the widget on my homepage! :-)

Also does anyone have experience with MyBlogLog? Is it anywhere near as good as Blog Catalog?

You'll find a couple of discussions about it here in the forum. Personally, MBL doesn't offer the social part of social networking and that makes finding an interesting and useful blog much more difficult. Here, I chat with folks in the forum, check out their blogs, and check out the neighborhoods they've joined to see if there are other, related blogs that I might like, too.

MBL lacks that first step, where you get an idea of the blogger's personality and interests without actually visiting half a dozen blogs. It's just much less friendly over there because members can't interact in a neutral place like this.
