What can I do to improve my blog?

I'm new at blogging and love to write. I just wanted some tips or tricks to increase traffic to my site. My blog is based primarily on your opinions, comments, suggestions, feedback, etc. So check it out and tell me what else I could add to it please! Thank you!!

Well first of all your blog is a little blah. I mean there are no graphics, nothing to relate to. If this blog is about your life, then put up a title pic of you or something you like to do. Your description is a little blah as well, be creative...don't just say "comment on my blog"...that's kind of needy. Not that I'm an expert and my blog is perfect, but this is kind of what I mean: www.lotusb.blogspot.com-
That's really neat.... how'd you get that huge picture like that. Yeah your blog looks alot cooler than mine. I mostly just want feedback from my blog, but I guess it could look more appealing to the eye. I'm just not sure where to get cool stuff like you got on your page. Hook me up with some tools or what not. Thanks!!

A lot of the stuff on my blog is just causes I support. Other than that, there are several Blogger tools that you can use to add content. As for the pic...change your layout and click on the header to add a graphic image. Pretty easy...

Got to agree with lotus here, while in my situation, I didn't go for much flashiness, rather just a nice, smooth design to my blog template(which you can find all over the internet for free and edit at will). I liked it because while it didn't clutter my page and cause any distractions to what I was writing, it still offered a nice appeal and design. But what others have said in here is correct, things like "pleaseindulgeme," "comeindulgeme," etc., seem way too needy and grabbing for attention. There are alot of good resources on here as well as around the internet like www.eblogtemplates.com/yaro-staraks-10-great-blog-traffic-tips/ that offer advice on how to streamline your blog and make it enjoyable by others.
While my site is not so much discussion friendly in most cases as I'm just offering my opinions and reviews about the latest video games, consoles, and hardware, I still try to add a personal tone to the way I talk about things, because in most cases talking in conversational tones will get people to want to respond to posts that you make. But before you try to get traffic to your blog get some posts on it first, you can add widgets through blogger, or by searching the internet for them. Post on forums, talk to other bloggers, and join the community.
But to show what I mean by how I streamlined and smoothed out the design for my blog template my blog is www.whatthereviews.blogspot.com. Again, nothing fancy yet still appealing, at least to me.

hi, welcome to the blogging world. first of all i'd like to say that i'm not going to say anything about your blog's content, as i didnt read them. i'm giving some suggestions based on the "looks" of it.
1. You must change the title. at least please remove the "Please" from the title.
2. change the tagline. read about taglines from timethief's blog: onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2009/06/22/creating-an-effective-blog-tagline/
3. Change the template/design. search for free blogger templates.
4. I understand that blogging can be a great source of an extra income. but to become an effective publisher one must have decent traffic coming to their blog. so please consider promoting and branding your blog first before putting ads to the blog. ads add a risk of annoying many readers.
5. please remove the ads from in between the posts.
6. if you can, then please increase the length of the posts.
7. reduce the number of posts on the homepage. many posts on the mainpage of a blog increases the loading time of a blog.
8. re-adjust the header image. it doesnt fit properly.

P.S. make navigating easier by putting the archive at the top section of the sidebar.-

Get your own domain and switch blogging platforms to WordPress. You won't regret it. And I agree with whoever said to remove "please" from your URL.-
the blogger is very new. i guess it will be more beneficial if they blog on a platform for sometime and get used to blogging. maybe then they can consider moving to own domain.

Agreta did you ever consider getting a wordpress site? Here's a site that builds them and then they give your new site a free press release to advertise it, if you need hosting get it there and they'll build it for free eautoblog.com/?cat=1 I thought it was a col idea and there sites look good. That will help ya get some traffic.-
can I use my same blog on Wordpress or does it have to be new? Can I have the same blog on both sites is what I'm asking...

it is not advisable that you run the same posts on multiple blogs. however you can transfer your posts to a new blog.

I think your blog looks great. But, a blend of some warm colors and photo's would liven it up a bit.-

you need better template which uses 1024 resolution and probably three column.
You can reduce height of the header image.
You can do post title optimization and image optimization.

the visual is important, I'd work on that.
Doesn't have to fancy, but pleasing.
As far as Blogger platform or Wordpress, I like Wordpress better, but there is more of a learning curve.
Just open a free account with wordpress.com and blog on both Blogger and Wordpress for a while, see which you like better.

Hey everyone I couldn't change the name of my blog my girlfriend wouldn't allow it she said Please was more polite lol. So I guess I'm stuck with that blog name. I hope it doesn't affect my traffic too much:(
