you can use wordpress for blogs and for commercial sites like ecommerce site you can use Joomla. In joomla SEO plugin is not availabe for all the extensions. you have to to do lot of R & D to find the SEO plugin for particular extension. My votes is 100% to WP.

I am using Wordpress with the free version of the Arthemia theme. Wordpress also has many plugins and room for customization.

I am using Wordpress now, and have been for about 2 years. The latest versoin is slick, easy to use, and widgitized well. I haven't used Joomla for blogging, how is it? I see it has great support for plugins, too.

I use Joomla! CMS - my blog application is Mojo - a wordpress based Joomla! component.
    1. komang
could you inform me where i can get mojo application
  9. mikodragonfly
    yup - it's here: extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3374...

The problem reported by the most recent user is something I never encountered but if you need help with implementing or anything - just give me a hollar. I'm no code monkey - but I've fiddled with joomla long enough to be able to muddle through most problems.

I use Notepad++. Anything more is for, well, people who lack the time and patience to build a website from scratch.

    Hi
I am working both in Joomla as well as in WP, But working in WP is very easy in comparison to Joomla. I have so many useful plugins of Joomla but I dont have SEF Version of those plugins, I have already search on the net but no solution. Wordpress automaticall converts its url to SEF url thats the easy way to promote your site, I give Word Press 10/10...

    thanks

For blogs, I think is better to use WordPress.
Is easy to use, and also you can find a lot of plugins or themes. If you search for "Wordpress themes" you will find a lot of free nice themes.
Just try it 2 weeks and you will see how it is.

    Good Luck

    The answers in very subjective.

Wordpress user will say "WP better", but Joomla user say "i prefer joomla"

Then, i think if we use the most CMS which we more familiar with, the blog would be better than just saying we have to use "this" CMS.

Blog is about our expression. Both the CMS and the content..

If you are joomla user and you don't know anything about wordpress, you dont have to learn how to use wordpress first before go for blogging..

    Just go with it.
