I'm looking at the avatars here and noticed a large number of the members have red hair. I thought this was kind of odd. I then looked it up and found that only a few per cent of people have red hair. In North America is less than 1 out of 25, or under 4%.
What color hair do you have?
What's left of mine is brown.

I am a fake redhead, but a redhead in spirit.
My real haircolor is sort of a confused blondish-reddish-brown. -
Mine use to be more golden dark brown and now it's more dark brown red.
I think the red is more visible because of me drinking, that must of done it.
But usually when you are much younger you may have golden hair and then later it just changes.
I don't like the smell of dyes so I don't bother plus that stuff goes down into your other
"hair down below" and I don't want to dye that too, so I don't touch the stuff.
These days I am more into reality and am satisfied with the color it is. -
Hmmm not sure what colour it is naturally.
It use to be

but now its

Well actually darker red than in those pictures. -
Red as a child, went strawberry blonde into my teens, then it went drab and I gave it some help with blonde highlights for so many years I had no idea what color it was. In my early 40's I decided to let it grow out and see what it looked like. I figured if I didn't do it then all I would see would be gray. I havent colored my hair in over 10 years, it is natural platinum blonde. So I went from flaming red hair as a child to natural platinum, strange, huh?!?
My Mom was blonde until she was about 18 at which point her hair started streaking in brown and remained that way until she went gray. -
I'm very very dark brown - almost black, and I had a crown of peppered grey about 4 inches long on the top of my head until I dyed my roots again.
My son and daughter are both red heads. We couldn't work out where they got that from until their dad's mother admitted she's a redhead but dyes her hair blonde. No one knew.-
Too funny! I'm the only redhead in my family out of 7 (5 kids and Mom & Dad) People ALWAYS asked 'Where did I get my red hair?' I learned that I could say, 'From my Daddy's beard.' It was the only other red to be found amongst us. (also actually from his mom- but she lived in another state so the Q came up a lot)

I was your archetypal towhead as a tyke...more white than blonde. By adulthood it had mutated to a mungy "dishwater blonde"...too light to be brown too dark to be blonde, and decidedly unattractive. So, with the help of my friendly neighbourhood hairdresser, we rediscovered my original blondeness, although more of a sunny blonde than white. Interestingly, when it grows out, that mungy dishwater colour seems to segue well into the bottle blonde, so I don't get that hideous Madonna reverse skunk look.
Oddly, there is a little bit near my widow's peak that, when first coloured, looks like the rest of my hair but, within a week or two, begins to lighten up. People often think I bleach a pale streak in the front, but it does it on its own...and the roots grow out that icky dishwater colour, not grey or white. I have very little (no more than 10) grey hairs...my 43 year old daughter has more grey hair than I do!
Right now I have a graduated bob haircut and most of my hair is its normal blonde, but with my last touchup I had the graduated area in back dyed a warm chocolate brown. It's now two-tone and my husband loves it! (I can't see it so as long as he's happy, so am I!).
