I got a big bottle of PunchOCreamer, Black Rum Christmas Fruit Cake,
a gift certificate to Nordstrom and some Carol's Daughter hair products.

Did you get anything? Whatcha get?
Did you give more than you received this year?
What did you give for gifts?

@MadMadMargo..My poor Mom wanted to sleep.
She was up for hours cooking and she didn't want to do this Christmas thing this year.
It's only because of my younger sister that she even bothered to put up a Christmas tree.
I don't bother with this Christmas _ullshit either but I do look forward to my Cakes and Eggnog.

      rmaxwell142....Sounds great.

Art of War by Sun Tzu (Personality flaw on my part)
    Let It Be CD
    New Super Mario Bros
    Okami (Wii)
    Trauma Center new Blood
    Clothes
    Money
    Target Gift Card
    Best Buy Gift Card
    The joy of giving
    1. Jeunelle
@acebrock..I dont know about you but personally I think gift cards are a pain in the butt.
I received one for Nordstrom and there is nothing I want there to spend the money on. Everything cost triple what the card is worth, which means I actually have to spend more
to get something to make it worth my while or give the card to someone else.
I prefer cash in a hallmark card, just sayin.
  12. armywife65
I got to see my son, who came from So Cal to visit.
Wish I would have gotten to see my grand daughter ='(
We don't buy each other gifts, we buy stuff all year round
For Xmas, we just buy for our kids, poor kids and the homeless
    1. Jeunelle
      @armywife65....very nice.
  13. armywife65
    @Jeunelle
    why thank you =)
    1. Jeunelle
Youre welcome, I gave a lot last year but this year I took it easy
and gave in other ways like baking cakes, doing errands and favors for the family.
    2. armywife65
      @Juenelle--
Talk about baking...I just made my 4th batch of Fudge. I know now how to make it without looking at the recipe. I think I will bring my Tread Mill to the kitchen next year and walk on it, while baking, I'm adding in Macaroons next year...lol
  14. MadameX
Many things, but my favorite is a bunch of new Hot Wheels stuff. I've been constructing a garage most of the afternoon.
    1. Jeunelle
      MadameX sounds cool
How did your daughter make out? Does she like hot wheels too?
    2. MadameX
Not so much, Jeunelle--but she got a cell phone from me, Guitar Hero World Tour (the full band set) from my parents and the collector's edition complete series of Charmed from my cousin (along with a lot of smaller things from various relatives), so she'll be busy for a while...and she hasn't even seen her father's side of the family for Christmas yet.

      I need a bigger house.
    3. Jeunelle
You need a bigger house, you better start praying. lmao
Looks like she made out pretty good.
    4. MadameX
Well, I was thinking about moving in May, anyway...I think we can get by until then.
  15. JanelleV
Santa was very good to me this year.. I got way more than I needed or asked for.

My favorite Christmas gift by far is my new Chi hair straightener -- it works wonders!
    1. Jeunelle
JanelleV I heard Chi is great. Also that Japanese one gets it bone straight but it's expensive. That's how it works for me too, when you don't expect it, it seems to come much easier.
    2. Bonnielicious
Are they better than GHDs? I need a new hair straightner! My one is on it's last legs but I got it on holiday in Sligo, Ireland and its white with orange flowers and I really don't want to give it up for something shitty.
    3. Jeunelle
Bonnielicious the Japanese Ionic hair straightening system is the best so far
but it cost a pretty penny.
    4. JanelleV
I know the Chi straightener is actually used a lot by salons. Ever since I've been using it my hair is so much smoother and I have less frizzies! Plus - it takes less time. I don't have to keep going through my hair over and over again. The Chi brand hair products are fairly expensive -- but well worth it!
    5. Jeunelle
@JanelleV....thanks for the Chi tip, I will give it a try, couldn't hurt.
    6. Bonnielicious
I'm keen to give it a whirl too, I really want shiny straight hair like Jennifer Aniston but my straighteners just don't cut it.
    7. Jeunelle
Bonnielicious...yeah the regular straighteners just don't last long enough for me.
  16. Bonnielicious
Shoes, chocolate and money. All a girl needs.
    1. Jeunelle
      Bonnielicious...Ok that can work too.
  17. dosox
I was busy sleepin tis winter..
    1. Jeunelle

A smart way to make a getaway from all this

    1. Jeunelle
@rileycentral...Oh my goodness, how cool is that.
Who's the cry baby in the back? hahaha
    2. rileycentral
That's my 2 year old she's the biggest whiner on earth. Cool thread.
    3. Jeunelle
      @rileycentral...lmao oh my
Hope she had a good Christmas or else you sure won't here the end of it.
  20. ushakrishnan
Hi, a bit off the track, but Janelle, is the Chi system from salons or did you order yours online? How about the bonnilicious Jeunelle? I have the curliest hair possible and would love to get something that works!

Oh and I did get great gifts- an LG phone, Italian cookbook and a new handbag.

    Cheers!
    1. Jeunelle
@ushakrishnan...Hello....the Japanese Ionic Straightening system you can get at a participating salon who specializes in hair straighteners and make sure you ask for someone who has years of experience doing it.

The Chi I suppose you can also get at a salon but I don't know all the details for that one yet.

Wow a new cookbook sounds cool, I have some good ones, looks like you did good this year.
    2. JanelleV
My boyfriend actually got it for me. I think he purchased it from ULTA. I don't know if they have them available on their website though because I have searched for them before & I didn't have much luck!
  21. dekadaye
    a pre-engagement ring!! woo hoo
    lol
    and some other random stuff
    1. JanelleV
so is that a promise ring perhaps?
    2. Jeunelle
      dekadaye...that sounds magnificent

winter's not for me.. I wish xmas celebrations was on a hot summer.
    And i ll..
    1. Jeunelle
      Alright
  26. melindaville
We actually didn't do many presents for each other this year--but my husband and I did buy a whole boatload of gifts to give to 'Toys for Tots' since so many are struggling right now. This way we helped the economy--and also helped those in need.

I don't really need much. My husband did buy me the new computer I am typing on right now (which I really did need) and he also got me a robe, some of my favorite chocolate and some lavendar bath salts, which I adore. My family has been directed to give money to my favorite charities rather than giving me things I certainly don't need (or likely want).

It was a great Holiday this year--full of love and laughter with the people I love most in the world.
    1. Jeunelle
mytyler77...yeah I got a new computer too some months back and I love it.
Sounds like you two had a good Christmas
  27. ThriftShopRomantic
One of my friends made me the most wonderful, crazy gift-- my one blog logo in needlework! She spent a ton of time on it, added lots of detail, and most of all, it was just incredibly thoughtful.

You can see it here: thriftshopromantic.blogspot.com/2008/12/treasure-box-wednesday-short-holida...

She had it framed so it looked like an old-fashioned sampler. Now that's a friend!
    1. melindaville
Wow--what a fantastic gift! She really did do a beautiful job on it.
    2. Jeunelle
@ThriftShopRomantic....they do make great gifts, beautiful work.
My Grandma still does needlepoint, crochet and knitting at 99 years old.
  28. busylizzy
We had some things break down or die in November and December so hubby and I didn't buy eachother anything beyond the replacement items. I got him a new computer and he got me a TV. And today we had the 20 year old heater replaced. Ouch!
    1. Jeunelle
busylizzy....I need a little heater for the bedroom and you can bet you will love having yours on cold nights.
  29. VampireFaust
    Peace and quiet

I love heavy, moist fruitcakes! But I am told I am the only person on this planet who does. :-(
