I was almost shocked to see this post on the second page, and no answers yet! Come on people, what did blogging bring to your life? why are you even blogging? I think this is an interesting question!

When i started blogging i wanted to simply put my thoughts together, "on paper" as they say, and help me find new ideas and practice my writing. And to this day i still feel the same way, except I now do it for a living, but my main goal has not change, i wanna help people and i love conversations, and blogging is a great way to achieve that

I find that since i started blogging my writing skills improved a lot, and I met sooooo many interesting people (even made a nice trip to chicago not so long ago ffor a blogging conference www.sobevent.com, neever happened before in any other "business" if you wanna call it that way) I find clarity, and inspiration through blogging which is great, found business partners, friends, i mean i'm enjoying every single step

so what about you guys and galz?

I started my blog back in May of 2006 to fill in a big gap of time once I moved into a position to retire and leave the day job behind. I originally wanted to have nothing more than a journal or chronological record of how much my life changed and to document specific events. The blog still serves that purpose but has become so much more that I can't even describe it.

Blogging is a great replacement for the often faceless society that we live in! The community, the hood, the connections. Go to any third world country and look at the smiling faces, Northern Peru, Cambodia and on it goes - even in extreme cases they pull together as a COMMUNITY. Nowadays we can jump for oy with 50 more friends in the network rather than a knock at the door....

It is all about the ability to connect. Do what you love and the money will follow, as will the traffic........GO! blogcatalog.

I write so much behind the scenes for my Real Job, plus I'm always making something crafty, the blog was my chance to have a voice out there and share things with people.

I usually end up being the listener, instead of the talker, in person-to-person situations, so it's nice to be able to just put something on the web and discover people really DO listen.

Also, I've gotten to meet online some interesting people with great ideas-- so blogging has been a wonderful way to spur on even more ideas.

I originally started blogging in 2005 as a way to vent some feelings and frustrations that i couldn't get out any other way. that turned into a daily blog that detailed my whirlwind engagement and subsequent marriage.

After I shut down that blog, I moved on to cooking, my first real love, in an attempt to keep track of what I was throwing into the dishes I made. The fact that i now have about 50 people "coming along for the ride" every day is a wonderful bonus to that experience!

I started my blog to raise awareness, to teach and to learn. It brings me alot of personal satisfaction especially when people comment and come back day after day to read what I've written. It's a great place to be able to vent my own feelings and frustrations.

i started writing the Classic Movie Lounge in order to accelerate learning about classic film which i LOVE LOVE LOVE!

it actually started under a different name on blogspot earlier in the year, but it really has helped me learn more and has attuned my taste in film.

plus i've found some cool classic film blogs

Your Movie Lounge site, I thought, was extremely well-done, all around. I need to go back there when I have more time; you had so much info I didn't know-- and I thought I was pretty savvy on classic film!
