I think you should save trendy, fashionable text-speak for mobile phones and use conventional English in places where you have a full keyboard and screen.

Oh you mean the kind of fashion that I'm wearing now; a 20+ year old top I got at Monkey Wards that I continue to wear because it's comfortable? Sorry, I'm feeling VERY snarky today, just ask my husband.

Snarky is good in the right place. This seems as good a place as any!

I enjoy seeing the new trends and fads I do have to agree with Sweetviolet about the text speak. You are talking to a broad range of readers on social networks, (including non English readers who struggle enough with standard English without having to deal with text speak). It will put a lot of people off.

Fashion is just designed to take money out of the pockets of people who don't know any better in exchange for over-priced, often ridiculous looking, items.

Styles that suit you, and things you find comfortable (as kden says) are far more sensible.

But given the topics you've listed this under, I'm guessing you've got a vested interest in designer fashion items?

And I agree totally about the text speak.

Considering we don't walk around naked everyday I think fashion is a good thing.
There is nothing wrong with wanting and making an effort in the way you dress and present yourself to the world around you.
That doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune on designer clothes either, but people will always be critical no matter what you do.

There is a pile of old clothes on the floor in my bedroom. Whatever I happen to reach down and pick up is my fashion for the day.

I am seriously considering making my own clothes from here on out. Especially jeans. I cannot find a pair that fit and doesn't show my crack when I bend over.

you're preaching to the choir with me. I have the same issue.

Let me tell you what I honestly think about the fashion industry. I think designers in Paris, Italy, London, etc. wherever the fashionistas get their ideas, get together, design the most outrageious, silly, ugly and downright laughable shoes and clothing, then sit back and laugh hysterically at the stupid people who fall for these clothes and buy them shamelessly. They must have the time of their lives with this. The platform shoe is the perfect example along with the hideous look of the "mountain climbing boots" when worn with a long calf-length dress. What man wouldn't salivate at the site of this?
    1. jafabrit
Oh but who cares what a man thinks, if someone enjoys wearing them that is what counts. Not dismissing your comments about the fashion industry mind. I happen to LOVE doc martins or wellies, and think they look smashing with a calf length dress (although I am past the age I can get away with it). But wouldn't you say fashion is like art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

      oops! wrong spot

It's so funny, you look at some of the fashion magazines, and you have to wonder if anyone would be caught wearing that stuff in public.

I think fashion should be fun,a way to express your personality or even cheer you up when you feeling a bit down. I hate it when people take it too seriously.

what do I think of fashion?

I think if my shirt and pants almost match...it's a good day for me!

I'm not fashion-y, I just know what I like and because I'm so short I know what I can wear. That's about as far as my fashion sense goes.

A couple of years ago I read a quote that went something like this, "Fashion is an art form so ugly that it has to be changed every 3 months." I think that says it all!!

I don't think much about fashion at all. I know what suits my body type. I know where to get great next to new clothes and handbags, jewelry and accessories at consignment shops and charity shops. And I also know how to put them together to create my own sytle rather than looking like a cookie cutter trendy woman of the season. When I do buy new I purchase clothes made primarily from natural fibers, that are properly made and tailored to fit.
