I am a certified hypnotherapist and I believe it works.

If you're a certified hypnotherapist one would hope that you KNOW it works...?

Catholics do the same thing to me

But NLP is hypnosis - see what Bandler had to say on the Swinging Watch www.hypnoticarts.blogspot.com Hypnosis is fantastically successful with those that can be hynotised.

I saw a subliminal advertising executive yesterday, but only for a second.....no, wait--that wasn't me.

Subliminal Shmininal -- You can't be made to do anything you would not normally want to do except perhaps the dishes! Does that mean my wife is controlling my thoughts? She has a dirty mind too, oh boy!

Seriously, if you help people and they get better with your treatments, sobeit and God bless ya!

I said "I "believe it works" Knowing and believeing are different to me at least

Yeah, that was my point! If you are a certified hypnotherapist it shouldn't be a belief, surely? Why would you get qualified in something without knowing it works?

Hypnotherapy is a scientifically observed process...it's no longer in the realm of spiritual healing etc.

Hypnosis has nothing to do with NLP. I find it odd you would put the two of them together.

      Yes, I quite agree

NLP is hypnosis. Bandler created NLP because the word hypnosis scared the crap out of people too much. See what he had to say on the swinging watch. www.hypnoticarts.blogspot.com

wehireu if you look at the wider definition of Hypnosis you will recognise the NLP is indeed a form of hypnosis and they both have the same common goal, which is to tap into the subconcious mind!

Also when Bandler and Grinder created NLP, it was mostly modelled on three prominent therapists. Milton H Erickson, also known as the grandfather of hypnotherapy, was one of them.

I think people do what they believe is best. It is how each person decides to look at things. You say tomatoe I say tomato. "Why would you get certified in something without knowing it works?" Belief is enough for me. Somethings work for some people other for others (like in the case with psychotropic meds) One dossage works for so and so and not for another. One medication works for someone else and not another. Go figure.

Certainly hypnosis works. I'm a hypnotist too and use hypnosis in my life - to hypnotize my friends, help my clients to get rid of bad habits and so on.

But let us know how you would like to use hypnosis in you life and we will say if it works or not.

For those hypnotists on this discussion you might want to take a look at a discussion started on my business forum - it might be of interest to you, feel free to register and join the discussion, as this might be something to get more exposure to you:

I heard of it, but never tried it before.

I believe it will us in some ways, especially when digging out secrets from a person. Or re-programme him or her into someone that you wish to.

    :-D

Hypnosis is basically entering a trance state and receiving messeges that affect the subconscious mind.

NLP doesnt require you to be in a trance state.

I like Hypnosis, but never liked NLP.

EFT is better than both in my opinion.

I think it is a case, like Arnous81, of finding out what works best for you.

I have taken courses in, and seen results with NLP, Hypnosis, and Time Line Therapy and found them all useful myself in their own context.

NLP is certainly more involved than hypnosis as far as using your active imagination goes, which may be why some people find it challenging.

Keep an open mind and find what suits you.

    Hey there

Yes and actual the more you practice in your life the more you learn or is it the more you learn the more you practice?

    regards
