Use Squidoo to write about a particular affiliate product. Post a link to your squidoo lens on your blog like in the gadget section or side bar somewhere. Your main posts can be about other useful topics or other affilite products that you don't want to explain too much in detail.
People don't like to go through long blogposts, but they don't mind reading a long article, especially if its a Squidoo lens where you can add pictures and modules to break up the topics for easy readability.
Then in your Squidoo lens, add the RSS address of your blog. That way your Squidoo articles and your blog is plugged into each other. Ping your blogs through pingoat, pingomatic. feedshark, iping and what ever other pingers you find. Put appropriate tags on your blog. Put different but appropriate tags on your Squidoo lenses.
Promote your Squidoo lenses and bookmark them. Social Bookmarks are more receptive to articles than straight websites out there for fear of spamming.
That way you're getting traffic coming from two platforms and they feed each other. -
