I've been trying to get my Google PageRank to show some values but it seems my domain (www.dreamwalkersworld.com) is too new. Still, I want to do as much as I can to increase this value when Google updates its data.

What do you do to increase your PageRank? Is there anything else I can do with my blog to help meet my objectives? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Nothing, keep writing posts, keep commenting on other peoples blogs, keep making friends of other bloggers, and its almost guaranteed you'll get a PR2 or 3 next update

That's not true. PageRank is determined by backlinks. How to get those? I have a PR 3 blog and i am willing to link to you if you do the same for me. This will guarantee you PR2. so... for more info visit this discussion: www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/i-will-add-you-blog-to-my-pr3s-weblog-blo...

Stop obsessing with pagerank and other ranks and concentrate of writing unique, good quality material.
Pagerank is a tool for other's to measure your authority. It's not for you.

Any time I see someone obsess about pagerank my first thought is that they want to set themselves up as an SEO expert. Personally I think pagerank is a load of rubbish these days

It's the new bloggers who are most excited about statistics and want to get to the top as fast as they can - which is not a bad thing by the way.
I stopped caring about Pagerank and other authority ranking because their algorithms are never perfect and are infact upgraded by their developers when you least expect it. And when that happens there is hue and cry all over the blogosphere !
I don't want to add more stress to my life than I already have !

Makes sense and yeah, am kinda hooked on PR mainly because of PPP. I do place more weight on writing original and quality content as I do believe that's inherent to a blog's success.

Good comment. I am always hoping that good content will get me farther than ranks and stuff!

    I wouldn't worry.

My one with a 3 rank gets more traffic than my 4

there's lots of other things to worry about apart from that

the reason blogger are obssesed with PR is that many Advertising network gives better rates for websites with a higher PR.

Where do you go to see it? The page rank that is?

I can no longer give a toss about PR. Google keep dropping mine, then restating, and over again. They never tell you why, I don't have the time to keep fiddling with webmaster tools like they tell you to, so unfortunatly, although I'd much prefer google to be my friend, I am taking the stuff them attitude.

If you want to improve your page rank then never buy links and be cautious about who you link to. Check at least one page down to see who they link to and always use a bad neighborhood checker before you link. Link to related blogs.

This tool will scan the links on your website, and on the pages that your website is linking to, and flag possible problem areas. This can greatly ease your SEO efforts. You simply type in a url and wait for a report. www.bad-neighborhood.com/text-link-tool.htm

It surprised me when a reviewer at linkreferrals gave kudos to the Pagerank 2 of my website benny813.onesite.com. I was not very aggressive in promoting the site because I simply focused on blog advertising there. What I found out was that backlinks on the blogs were more responsible in reaching that pagerank. It gave natural traffic and not from traffic sites I am a member of. Keywords and tags did not play a big role. That site is just a little over 2 years as of to date.
    1. timethief
You're quite correct back links are important.

I just blog, which means writing my own posts and also interacting with other bloggers. Backlinks are a natural result of that process. No need to focus on 'em.

Reply to as many posts as you can at my blogs, since I have "dofollow enabled on both.

It's not really something that bothers me. If people want to link to me, they can and if that somehow helps my page rank then that's fine as well. But I don't go out of my way to increase my page rank; I've got far better things to be doing. Getting drunk is one of them.
