    I used to cry and eat chocolate frosting out of the can.

    Now I work out.

      mtyler77~ yeah..cry will be the 1st option for ladies including me. ihhhii. But ur habit of eating chocolate when u r sad is very good coz according to a reasearch, chocolate can help to release calming hormone in the bodyy and help u to recover fast from mental depression. Work out is also excellent, but to see better outcomes, have partner when u do it.

      jafabrit~ among all the things u do to distract urself, i like the one which u play wth the dog.....having pets at home certainlyyy doing big part for stabalising our emotionsss.

    I usually listen to music that is very reflective when I'm sad. I'll just sit and listen for a while.

    I curl up in a ball on the floor and sob uncontrollably. Then I eat some pretzels and after that, I'm fine.

      this is when the kitten's next of kin starts choking on its hairballs in deep grief, then proceeds to slay the nearest person in the arm. The cycle of instant happiness continues. A slay for a slay makes the whole world happy.

    I usually sleep, because being sad is tiring. I used to escape the sadness now I examine all my feelings surrounding my sadness. To feel better after I take positive action.

      lordiwanttobewhole~ well, maybe, most of us do not realise, but there;s a research shows that our brain still cling to the sadness or problems we have although we are in sleeping mode. Because our eyes might be closed( rest), but brain, will just continue working untill the end of our lives. so the best way is that, try to cure the sadness 1st before taking the option of sleping straight away.

      sisterofmercy~ i think when we are sad, its not favourable to listen to sad songs, as it will further deepen our emotions to worst state. how if, we choose other kind of musics which is not too sorrow, and not too happy.

    Depends. Sometimes I write. If the weather's nice, and sometimes when it isn't, I go for a long walk or go to the gym -- something to burn off energy.

    Listening to music usually helps me. Sometimes hanging out with friends. But usually when I am sad I gravitate to music. Sometimes I listen to sad songs. Sometimes I listen to empowering songs. All depends.

    Give myself permission to wallow in it briefly and to do something just for myself. Usually that means going for a long walk and just noticing everything around me. Sometimes it means gorging myself on chocolate. It's a toss-up between the two, really.

    I usually grabs my Guitar and start playing songs. I really love to do this everytime I feel sad and sometimes I wrote my own song of the way I feel that day. By this, I can release all the sadness and bad things I felt and also takes away all my stress, its a relief.

    Cry and cry and cry and cry! It seem slike today there are so many things ot be so sad about. I always feel better when one of my girls tells me they love me. Going outside is also another way to deal with sadness. Nature is incredible and tends to "put me in my place" so to speak.

    You should start a creative journal. This means that as well as writing your feelings down you also draw/ paint stick stuff on paper. Just do it and you will be surprised. There are many sites on creative journaling.If that fails I usually eat chocolate!!!!Or dance or play music or strum my guitar or go for a walk.
